LSU was down 14 when Daniels went out.

According to the committee, the season eas over for LSU at that point.

I believe you were just looking at the expression on Brian Kelly's face.

You made a metaphor. You didn’t say anything. I said the SEC is the best conference and it is routinely proven with multiple data points from the time kids enter college, what happens while they’re there, and when they leave.

Look at the recruiting. Look at the playoff results. Look at the draft. Where do the best players play? 8 different SEC team have made a top 4 playoff poll without me doing any research, I could be wrong but if I’m wrong there’s more than that. Not only do other conferences not compare, other conferences don’t come close, in any of those 3 metrics.

Bama
Georgia
Tennessee
LSU
Auburn
Ole Miss
Texas A&M
Mississippi State

All been in the top 4 in a CFP poll

But Rise they’re only ranked high because of the perception!

Explain the championships and the draft then. Because the nfl doesn’t give a shite where a kid played, they care that he can play

What is a "low tier SEC team" in a given year?

Vandy, South Carolina, Florida. Teams w losing records & 4/6 of the wins that somehow prove the ACC is better than the SEC

That’s all great history but not part of the selection criteria.

I’m not sure what a self licking ice-cream cone is, but the SECs dominance is pretty clearly self-perpetuating.

You know I didn't make that up, don't you?

I suggest you simply check the football polls. It's somewhat fluid.

Sure, but the movement in the polls is based largely on SEC teams playing SEC teams. Theres a bunch of OOC games at the beginning of the year (that the SEC did poorly in) and then at the end of the year (where we fared better, but still didn't light up the world or anything).

Its an issue with having so many conferences in CFB. We just really don't know whats what until bowl season is over, and even then we now have so many opt outs in any game that isn't a playoff that bowls aren't a good measure anymore.

Tennessee is the poster child for what a fallacy the SEC rankings were this year. Had to keep them in the Top 20 just to have another SEC team...think about that. They were considered the best choice to get a 4th team.

The conference championship games over the weekend were abysmal to watch
What?!? The PAC, SEC, AAC, CUSA, and MAC CCG were all great games. I will agree that the evening slate Sat wasn't good, but to that point a good game was a click away, and both Friday night games were high flying battles with great story lines.

When people say “the SEC is down” it just means the top teams are only as good as the top teams of other conferences

Anyone want to figure this out or would y’all rather keep pretending like the SEC is on the same level as the other conferences

Have you looked at any of these teams resumes? Looking at 20 years is both lazy and irrelevant.

Missouri is ranked #9 that’s true but why other than they are in the SEC? They are 10 and 2 with loses to UGA and LSU. They have 2 ranked wins Tennessee and KSU (please note if you don’t count KSU as ranked for Texas than they are unranked for Missouri too)
Besides KSU their other OOC game are FSC SD, 9-3 Memphis who they beat by 7 and 4-8 MTSU who they beat by 4. The only SEC teams they beat with a winning record are 8-4 Tennessee and 7-5 Kentucky. Tennessee lost 4 games by 13, 14, 28 and 29. They did not beat a ranked team. Kentucky’s only ranked win is Louisville. If Missouri had that resume in the Big XII you’d say they were no good and only had a good record by beating bad teams.

What it really means is besides Bama and Georgia the rest of the conference is suspect. The SEC “dominance” in the playoffs is those 2 teams with one outlier season by LSU.

College football seemed down all over for the most part. There are no Georgia’s from last year. Everybody has flaws. It is why FSU should have gotten in.

No. It is wrong to deny FSU after all they did. And given how the season played out.

Wouldn’t have waited until this year if this were the case. I stand by what I said

Has LSU had just an average defense, they would have waltzed into the playoffs

You forgot Bama knocked the Heisman winning QB out to end that game

FIFY…”Bama PURPOSELY knocked OUT & CONCUSSED DUE TO A HELMET TO HELMET HIT the Heisman winning QB IN ORDER TO end that game”

JD5 plays the full game, I highly doubt LSU doesn’t have a good chance to pull it out.

An Arkansas fan knighting for bama in the name of SEC pride is just absolutely pathetic
