Did I not say Brees and Payton were both GREAT at what they do?
Why are people being sensitive about Payton making excuses for Brees. He's STILL Great.
However, for a guy (at the time) who had the highest paid contract in the NFL...he had a down year. Running game/defense be damned...he still forces throws. Great player, top 5 QB. He had a down year *for him*. Accept it and move on Payton.

The guy with the 3rd highest completion % in NFL history is a turnover prone gunslinger. 7th in passer rating.

So, to you, Payton saying Brees had to force the issue, a lot, to try to make up points because every other facet of the saints team was fricking terrible is making excuses? Ok.

Wait, what did he say that was wrong exactly?
and this is coming from a Romo fan that was very glad to see Brees take the INT lead in like week 15 or whatever it was for a brief minute.

Retarded. This isn't rustling any Jimmies. Brees had a down year for his standards. It's not rocket science.

The OP is clearly a failed abortion.

Brees is obviously a great QB. But just call it what it is. Brees is a gunslinger.
I guess having the 2 highest comp. % season ever means you're a gunslinger.

Firstly, I am a Saints fan born and raised.
Did CSP make excuses for the lack of running game? No. Did he make excuses for the D? Nope. Then why Brees?
He just needs to give him a roofie, so he can finally sleep with Drew.
