That already pay for cable, or some other form of TV, sports packages, and a myriad of streaming packages already.

It eventually adds up and becomes overwhelming. Additionally, I fricking hate having to change services to view games. It’s annoying and inconvenient

Peacock probably our most watched service as the kids love wrestling and the minions franchises. It’s a pretty solid service.

With the NFL moving Christmas games to Netflix this shite is getting really old.

Peacock for the price and the amount of sporting events is a pretty good value and has some good series.. better that paramount+ and Disney+

cut the cord they said

the providers were never going to lose this game. They just undercut some of the old guard , then jacked their prices up, and now we're basically back to where we were with now the streaming services offering bundles connected to each other

Haven’t read the whole thread so no idea if anyone has mentioned it yet but due to the antitrust lawsuit from the 60s, this game can’t be aired on any broadcast network so that’s why it’s on Peacock.

Google it. Test out some of them. You can see a bit more about it on the tech board.

Curious as well. I’ve always just used Kodi and the sites that shall not be named and have had success.
Is this a standalone program to install?
How is it different from what you can do with Kodi?

I decided that this is where I draw the line. Adding another streaming service doesn’t affect my budget in anyway, but you have to stop somewhere. It’s just the principle of the matter. I’m not picking up a streaming service that I don’t want or need it just so I can watch at most 20 football games a year.

I have a feeling that this will be the tipping point for a lot of people.

The NFL doesn’t care.. they have more money than they need. I wish they would take care
Of past players though.

Cutting the cord is a great way to go if you know what you’re doing.

I thinks it’s more about the principle. Imagine if you were charged $2 to park at a grocery store. $2 is not a lot but the idea is stupid. At some point, you have to grow a spine and put your foot down as customer. It’s not about “I have money, $8 is not a big deal”.

I get it for the first two legs of the triple crown.

And I won’t do that next year. I’ll just use RTN. I don’t need announcers during a horse race.

I can remember the movement from when everyone wanted to switch from traditional satellite/cable providers to streaming services because it was way cheaper.

It seems now that the corporations have become greedy (shocker!) and the turn tables…. I wonder if there will ever be a heavy migration back to traditional services

This is more or less where I sit. I absolutely have $8/month I can pay for this, but the point is that I just don't want to on principle. Streaming is basically the same cost as cable at this point(Youtube TV, Fubo, etc), so you're being forced to continue to buy these other services outside of that. One I can deal with, but when it continues to expand, it just gets to the point where you say, f it. I'm not doing it.

I will say though that I moved away from Comcast cable earlier this year and Peacock came with that. Apparently they didn't cancel my Peacock account because I'm still getting it for free, so I'll milk that as long as I can, but the point remains that people are being pushed to pay for Peacock, Amazon, Netflix, etc etc etc.
