I would take Pippen and Rodman over Wade and Bosh or Irving and Love.

Pippen > Wade > Rodman > Bosh > Irving > Love

Prime Wade was incredible, LeBron caught the tail end of those years. Irving may move up on that list, but not during the years he played with LeBron.

Stat King!

Aren't championships statistics too? So, no...he's not quite there.

And hasn't Scottie been feuding with Jordan lately?

Jordan was part of the 2nd one when they lost to Shaq and the Magic.

And bosh miss half the season after Lebron left and they didn’t resign battier or Allen. How can that be used as a point for Lebron idk.

LeBron is unquestionably the better player (had the benefit of growing up emulating Jordan's greatness)

Jordan will always have the better legacy (biggest star at the perfect time in the NBA's growth in global popularity)

Well typically when players retire, they don’t sign a context to work for the league they retired from.

Unquestionably? No way.

I still think it's MJ. Lebron (clear cut #2) still has more work to do to catch him.

And in my opinion, it'll take a lot because of the 2011 Finals. That is a tremendous smudge on a GOAT resume.

Those guys retired bc the heat weren’t trying to win anymore. Ray Allen was still considering a comeback as late as last season. For a contender.

In titles/prestige, he has a ways to go. He'll never catch him on the latter count, and unless he moves West, probably not the former.

As a player, though, James is unquestionably the better player. He is monstrous compared to MJ in his abilities, and against better competition IMO.

More god given physical gifts (size/speed)

Less god given mental gifts (quit on CLE to team up with 2 other top 10 players In order to win first title)

Mental edge is why Jordan will never be topped by Lebron.

Jordan also has the benefit of being "first mover." From a perception standpoint, he'll always be the standard, even though he wouldn't be transcendent in the modern era.

That's not a knock on Jordan either. Players in the league today grew up perfecting what he introduced. It's the way sport evolves.

MJ is Yeti while James is Rtic.

I mean he's bigger and is the better passer, but I can't agree with that across the board.

It reminds me of the Moss/Jerry Rice debate.

All those abilities shouldn't lead to being checked by JJ Barea in a Finals game. That has to count for something.

That was half his career ago. His trend since then has to count for far more. How many Finals games has he played since then? Is Barea checking him now? Or at any point thereafter?

Of course not.

But in the context of a GOAT argument, where every detail has to be examined, when you're saying he's unquestionably better than Jordan?

Yeah, that shite matters.

I said he's unquestionably the better player. I strictly talk about basketball abilities in this debate.

You want to talk prestige, impact, mental fortitude, etc., that's a far murkier/subjective venture. One that I'm inclined to give MJ the nod because of the reasons I previously stated.

But the basketball player in James that I've witnessed the past 4 years or so and counting is far more formidable than peak Jordan.

And I'm not a fan of either James or MJ. Just observing.

Just rebounds and assists. I think Jordan has better steals/game, blocks/game, and scoring/game.

Why do people bring this up so much. It was maybe two or three plays of Barea getting switched onto him off of a PnR. From the way people talk you'd think Barea was locking him up for half the series.

i hope this doesn't turn into some type of "biggie/tupac" situation. we've "lost" so many already.
