Like I said on radio, I said this the day I was moving on, it was never for them! They weren’t supposed to get it. It was for people like us, our buddies, our idiot friends and there are a lot of our idiot friends out there in the world. And they found it.

“Our show grew more in the last two years than any show here.”

I am still pretty bitter about this. how can anyone like mike and mike more?

Just announced starting next week it will be "The Russillo Show", at least temporarily.

Not related but I was just watching a few minutes of first take and good God does having the audience in the background make the show 1000 times worse
fricking 12 head nodders in the background

Will be interested to see how Russillo's negotiations go. With him being up in August it'll be interesting to see what ESPN does.

Did I hear Russillo say, "Who doesn't smoke weed?" on the show today? They went straight to a break.

But then he came back after the break and said something to the effect of, "yeah, it was a live mic."

Totally agree with everyone's sentiments posted and SVP's take. Sad sad day for me. Loved the inside jokes, college football analysis, bar/restaurant road takes, sports betting coverage, music be it rock, rap, and 70s/80s,etc..

Do like Cowherd's NFL, pointspread, tv ratings/business/psychological takes, mainly over football..but overall not as enjoyable for durations as is SVP/Russillo..

Nowkhah in the ESPNU/SEC radio hosting booths also is very astute.

Mike and Mike have always been root canal to anyone that isn't totally square.

30 minutes of split duty multiple-host Midnight ADHD highlight takes, is wasted on SVP, he needs to be heard for two hours daily. They're taking away the microphone from SVP in his prime and while still young and passionate..a shame.

Here's hoping kidney stones upon the ones that forced this move!

To be fair filling TV time is way more important to ESPN than mid day radio air.

I well understand ESPN's needs, however, they do not coincide with mine, nor the majority in this thread.

SVP for snippets-only half-hour tv, instead of free-mic original SVP/RR/Stanford Steve content radio for two hours..apple and orange. It's like journeying all the way to Lyon-L'Auberge du Pont de Collonges, only to then ask Paul Bocuse to make you a croque-monsieur.

case in point of why Cowherd sucks arse, he's just spent the entire morning explaining his incredibly high standards of what he views as a dynasty and what isn't.

SVP voluntarily chose to do this. He explained he could have kept going with the radio show or try something different (with more pay). And he chose something different. So I guess you are wishing kidney stones on SVP.

That's not at all how I heard them explain it. He absolutely did not want to do it at first. He then said he started to see the benefits of it. But to me it certainly sounded like he was just trying to make the best of the shitty situation ESPN is putting them in.

I didn't hear it, but I'm guessing it was something like:

"You want to talk about dynasties? Here's an example. People down south love their football...not a lot going on socially. They care more. Not a lot of internet access. They watch fox news and murder homosexuals. People on the west coast, they typically have more going on. They're into wine tasting, google, napa valley...they're smart enough to realize that sex changes are a good thing.

And that's why the Patriots dominate the NFL."
