15-30 now at Nebraska. Pelini was fired for going 66-28.

but whom does Nebraska get to replace him?

Always impossible to answer this early. You never know the names that will get hot.

Maybe an assistant coach from South Carolina?

they're waiting for Kiffin
in what universe is nebraska a better job than ole miss in 2022

lance leipold is a pretty reasonable target id assume depending on if he can win a couple games this year. maybe chadwell at coastal carolina but he could probably wait for a better job

could also see bielema or mullen

Looking back he only had 2 years experience. He never showed an ability to sustain anything. O'Leary took UCF to 12-1 with a Fiesta Bowl win with Bortles. 2 years later he went 0-12 and was done. Frost bolted while on top.

It looked good at the time, I think him being a former QB at Nebraska during their prime made the hire a little more rosey as well.

This is all hindsight 20/20. Frost was the unquestioned #1 coaching target of that year. Florida wanted him, everybody wanted him. Frost failing this bad at Nebraska is a very bitter pill to swallow for their fans and admin. Everyone criticizes Nebraska for not being patient enough with prior coaches. Well they are trying to be as patient and realistic as they can with Frost, but its still not working.

Everybody piles on now as if Frost was always a bad coach who knows nothing, but he was successful previously.

He had one great year at UCF. Even in his brief stint as Oregon OC, he was just running the same offense that Kelly and Helfrich had been running for years. Maybe we need to stop pretending he was ever worth the hype.

Stupid turnovers, penalties, playcalls and losses have been happening since Frost's first year, yet media members were still picking them as a B1G West contender preseason. It's like people have memory-holed the reality of Nebraska football from the last few years.

I know Dan Mullen wasn’t great or anything. But wow we won by not getting Scott Frost.

Ironically, Mullen might be an ideal candidate for Nebraska. He wasn't a good enough recruiter to win at the level Florida should win at, but he was excellent at winning with the level of talent Nebraska should realistically expect to have on campus. I think Mullen could get them to a Wisconsin type level.
