I love this thread. All Feldman has done all year is dominate on the road. 11-1 with a 2.80 ERA. Sick.

I love 1ranter. Dude is fearless and a moron... my favorite combo.

he's not a sinkerballer in the normal sense.
Like most lay fans, I'd always believed that the primary value of the sinker was to ground-ball the other team to death, like Brandon Webb, Derek Lowe, or even Jason Marquis when he's on. But what we have here is a sinkerball guy who gets guys out on more fly balls than the average bear.
I'm assuming that your point on the cutter is that he gets it in on the hands of lefties, causing a lot of F4's. Probably breaks a lot of bats, too.
But to my untrained eye, it seems like cutters to righties would cause guys to turn their wrists over and ground into a lot of weak 6-3's. And if the sinker is down, it should be ground balls aplenty.
I must confess that I almost never get to see you guys play, because FSN trumps Rangers with Astros exclusively where I live. But I'm curious about him not being a "normal" sinkerballer:
-is he a guy that likes to work up for whatever reason?
- Does that sinker tail in to righties, so it gets in on their hands for F6's?
- Is he throwing too hard at the start of the game and flattening out the sinker, such that that FB's come early and the grounders come late as he settles in?
I have a son who'll be probably be pitching soon, but what I know about the technical aspect of pitching wouldn't fill a thimble. Any and all insight would be appreciated.

Nice little end of the year bump. Took a lot of shite for disagreeing with the great BMac.
But since I said Feldman would run out of luck he has pitched 72 innings and given up 38 earned runs. An ERA of 4.75.
frick you all.

Nope, but I know I said his 3.59 ERA was unsustainable with his shitty secondary stats. And what do you know a 4.75 ERA since then.

wow you're kind of a doucher eh? I suppose if his ERA would have gone up to 3.70 you still would have stood by your point that he couldn't maintain it.

Everything I post is shite? Like when I said Feldman's ERA was unsustainable and his ERA jumped over a run since then, that was shite? Or maybe earlier when I took shite for saying Robby Cano was a top 5 2B, a .320 avg and 25 homers later I guess that's shite as well.
Sorry for correcting all you backwords fricks that think you know baseball but really don't have a clue.

The inevitable end of the year bump
Before this thread: Scott Feldman 9-3, 3.59 ERA
After I said there was no way he could keep that up with his SHITTY secondary stats: Scott Feldman 8-5, 4.76 ERA
Rise of 1.17 ERA = me right, all you Ranger and BMac homers, wrong
That being said he does have a great cutter and if he can keep the ball on the ground (like he did in his one good stretch at the end of August) he has potential.

Does everyone still agree with LfcSU3520 that Feldman is the man and his sub 4 ERA is sustainable?
