i went to the Cal-ASU game last year at ASU.. it was a good game and i was very much into it.. but it really had a high school atmosphere.. then i went to a high school game between the top two teams in Arizona.. and it felt like a high school track meet.. just a different breed of fans in the South for the most part..

so if you are going to go clean does that mean you will leave the board?

The saying the "In the west as a kid you learn 2+2=4. In the south you learn 2+2= 3rd and 6" really is true. Pac-10 football fan is undoubtedly a different breed. It's an excuse for most people to get drunk with their buddies and watch some football on the weekend, and it's a social event for students, but the intensity, outside of possibly Oregon fans, just isn't there

agreed.. now, i have met plenty of very passionate ASU fans.. just not nearly as many as you find for southern schools.. but i understand it also.. there is a lot to do out here.. in the south, not so much..

I've been to games in Eugene and games in TS, and the two really don't compare. The atmospheres are totally different -- LSU is a much tougher place to play.

I believe Mandel made the same comment last year after the USC-UO game. He said it was loud, but he wouldn't put it on the same level as LSU of UF.

Thats a big part of it and the reason you see more passion in Oregon and Washington which are more rural, smaller states on the whole and why L.A. will always be a shitty sports town

Pac 10 born, pac-ten semi raised.

The first football teams I watched were pac ten teams (WSU rose bowl 97)

wow, and you wear LSU stuff around Tulane's campus the week before the lsu-tulane game. Sounds like your even more of an attention whore in real life than you are on message boards,....

oh, and the ARKY game atmoshpere was horrible. one of the worst I've ever been in. The mtsu game earlier in the year was louder than the arky game.
