Wake has a pretty good defense. Only problem is the offense is abysmal (and it doesn't really matter whether the other team has the plays or not).

Kind of surprising Temple has been so bad for so long.
They have a talent rich area, play at Lincoln Financial. Seems like they should have a competitive team more often.

Not really. It's also in the middle of the city so the football facilities are nonexistent. I don't think playing in front of a 25% full Lincoln Financial and Vet before that far away from campus does much for their recruiting.
It's more surprising to me that they've stayed playing major college football
