You have some serious issues with cake...it must be devils food cake because gay men used it.

He simply celebrated being drafted, he didn't use the moment to crusade gay rights.

How it affected you and you're reaction to it is the issue.

Nothing in that moment went against what he said, and even if it did, it hardly seems fair to use a 15 second moment of joy to completely invalidate everything he has said or done up to that moment

He did? Sure that wasn't you, by making this thread?

Yep. You're right. I made the focus on Sam being gay by making this thread.

You people are hilarious. In wanting to be politically correct you have lost all judgment and ability to actually read a situation for what it is.

Sam is an attention seeking circus. THAT is why teams passed on him. He is going to flame out in the NFL and if you want to know why, you have your answer when he rubbed cake all over his boyfriend's face on national TV upon being the first gay player drafted in NFL history.

THAT is the story. The story is not that he is gay.

Ya'll can't see it because you are so busy defending him being gay.

I am not attacking him being gay. I am pointing out something else entirely.

Am I the only one that thinks having scrubs like Jason Collins and Michael Sam come out hurts the gay movement? Instead of being the Jackie Robinson of their cause they all but disappear (Collins doesn't even get off the bench). It would have benefited the gay community to wait for a star player to break down those walls.

I do care that he has been all over the news for the past 3 months telling us that he just wants to be a football player and then he does that.

But the question is, why do you care about this? So he misrepresented/lied/changed his mind about how he wants to be seen.

Why care so much? It's not your life/image and it has zero effect on you unless you're related to him or know him.

No, the story is that is he is gay. If he wasn't gay he wouldn't have rubbed cake all over his boyfriend's face on national TV upon being the first gay player drafted in NFL history.

yeah that's a good thought process, rather than actually take the time to process argurments against yours just chalk up to political correctness.

NO WAY you could possibly be wrong or other people just have a different legitimate interpreatation of the event.

Completely agree. I don't need a gay pride show during the draft. Completely unnecessary and uncalled for. He doesn't want to be a normal player.

I honestly would not have thought anything of it. I saw him sitting there with his boyfriend all day. It did not register with me at all.

The whole thing was a set up. I don't think that Sam even came up with it himself.

Who does that? Who smears cake all over someone's face in celebration on national TV? I have only ever seen it done in a wedding and then, it is a ritual.

I have never seen another player do that with his girlfriend.

We care not because he is gay but because he is an a-hole.

It was a publicity stunt.

His publicity stunt would lead me to believe that he is less about making a roster and more about milking his 15 minutes of fame.

Probably because this thread is about cake. Not gay-whatever.

Both are solid points.

If you want to be gay go suck a cock. No need to try to prove it. Hell we know he is gay. Sumbitch said it.

Best of luck to him.

A star with undeniable starting talent would have been better yes, but I can't see how having admitted gay men on a roster, whatever there playing time, hurts "the gay movement"

Going forward you think those 2 coming out would prevent someone with Andrew Luck or Russell Wilsons talent from getting a roster spot?

Talent will win out always

Why do you want discussion halted?

Can we only praise Michael Sam?

Is he immune from any criticism at all?

Those that are completely ignoring the point of the op are probably some of the same people that think if a person criticizes Obama's actions it must mean that person hates black people.

Maybe he is setting up a scenario where he can't be cut.

Were I a gay person I would be horrified by his antics.
