Does anyone believe hes gonna be a good pro. I just don’t see it. A #1 pick would be a total waste on him.

Nope.

But who am I? I said the same about Dak and Deshaun Watson.

I don’t think Sam Darnold is a bad quarterback I just don’t think he is anywhere close to number one pick value.

Those two guys were not top 10 picks iirc

I barely saw him play in college. I guess it depends on who picks him also. A lot of things have to fall in place for him to succeed. Everyone has a different take on what a bust is.

#1 picks are never wasted on Qbs.

They mean everything to the game.

He could be great or he could be average or he could stink...NFL has shown great consistency in getting things consistently wrong. So it's always a gamble.

But drafting Darnold #1 isn't like wasting a pick on a RB. The reward for a QB turning out great is astronomical.

He was a little loose with the football this past season by trying to do too much but I think he has the potential to be similar to Matt Ryan.

Watch how bad USC will be in the next couple of years without him elevating Clay Helton's bad coaching.

If he goes to the Browns, he'll fail. That's just as much or more on the Browns though. I'm convinced if Peyton Manning or Drew Brees or Aaron Rodgers were on the Browns theyd'd be terrible too.

Josh Allen might go #1 and he threw for 90 yards at home against Hawaii.

The guy with 6 career starts and a 3-3 record?

He might be a hall of famer. But remember how good RG3 looked after a few games.

lets think about this, when USC was really damn good who were the QBs, Carson Palmer and Matt Leinart. Carson Palmer panned out and its a perennial hall of famer, Matt Leinart, Garbage, and then Matt Barkley, also garbage. It really doesn't matter what they look like in college because USC's recruiting, conditioning, and overall play style on offense is not going to produce a lot of productive NFL QBs. They produce WRs, RBs, DLs, LBs, and DBs. Always have always will until the general culture of the system leans more on having a star QB. He will be a good backup and maybe one day he will start but definitely not worth a 1st round pick. Most pro ready qb in the draft is Josh Rosen because of the system at UCLA that relied on him to carry the load and majority of offensive production ran through him. He has better footwork than both Josh Allen and Sam Darnold, and armstrength better than Darnold but not as much as Allen. He is the safest bet for a pro team and both him and Allen have star potential along with Lamar Jackson. But Rosen is the closest to being a productive starter. also in my opinion Darnold has the furthest to go to be a star out of any of them

RG3 was ruined by injuries due to his body being too slight. He had a bunch of injury issues in college too so it shouldn't have been a shock that his body would break down in the NFL.

In the cotton bowl he got sacked seven times, I think he threw a pick six but also threw some back foot dimes lofted over perfect coverage big completions.

He's an enigma wrapped in a average QBR with a hall f fame upside and a NFL bust potential.

Coin flip.
