again... He made an INT that led to A New Orleans TD... If that doesn't happen ... the LAST play doesn't even happen....

He's a rookie that made a rookie mistake. It was what it was. He had a fantastic year and 1 play doesn't ruin that. Not even mad at him

Hate? No.

He did have the easiest tackle in the history of the world and it looked like he was paid not to make it.

No. If anything I like him more now. He made a mistake and owned it like a man.

This, he faced the media and answered every question like a man.

Great days ahead for Marcus.

I didn't say one negative thing about him except he fricked up on the play. No personal attacks and I don't hate the guy. I just don't see why we have to feel sorry for him. At the end of the day he's a millionaire and I had to drag my hungover arse into work today.

No. He’s a rookie and he was nervous about interfering with the WR, which would’ve been a free FG. He needed to keep his head up on the play.

I appreciate my friends, real fans, family, and team for everything they have done for me this season all of the support is highly appreciated! No the season didn’t end as planned but one thing for sure I won’t let one play define the type of MAN or PLAYER that I am or will be!

seems to be handling it well all things considered. hope the emotional types in our fan base can resist pecking their angry fingers on the keyboard and stop harassing him

He’s a good player and can be really good soon. I hope this doesn’t hurt him mentally.

No. He had a great year and is one of the youngest players in the nfl. He could very well be an all pro center field playing free safety. Not a lot of those running around.

It’s a damn football game. Anyone who HATES a person they don’t know over a football play doesn’t have much going for them.

No. I'm really mad he missed that tackle, but he has been a really great player his entire rookie season. Mostly, I feel sorry for him. He's going to have to live with that moment for the rest of his career, maybe the rest of his life.

Why would anyone hate him? Seriously?

You have to be mental to hate someone over that.

Having said that I think he is a stupid idiot and the play shows it obviously.

I said earlier I would trade him but the smarter move is to keep him, but if ever in such a situation like that I am substituting him out of the game. Can't trust him now. He has no gonads for the moment. Anyone who watches that play sees it as clear as day.

So that’s it huh? 21 year old safety with no room to grow or improve from this point out? Guys game is on the line. Williams get the frick out, I know you got voted to the pro bowl this year but we’re putting the backup in due to your lack of gonads.

Williams is 10x better than Byrd ever was for us and he’s a rookie. Freak play. Run that scenario 100 times 99/100 the Saints win it. Just incredible fluke play and a huge mistake. He had a great rookie season but casual fans will only know him from this.

I've seen the play multiple times.

It is beyond absurd he missed that tackle.

One of the most bizarre frick ups you may ever seen in sports history. It is so embarrassing he tackled his own player.

I understand why people wish him well and that is natural for most of society to do.

But if he is to receive glory for the good; he gets the criticism for the bad. That is how life should go. If a player these days wants to be serenaded for his positives he gets roasted for his frick ups.

And, this is the biggest we have ever seen on this stage.

You, me, and everyone else on this forum would make that tackle. He was in perfect position and it is inexplicable that he decided to do what he did. Makes zero sense that he choked in the moment.

A total choke job. Best I have ever seen

I hated him at first but I've been a big fan of his even before the draft.

I'm glad he's our Free Safety. He's going to be a playmaker for a long time. He really put it together later in the season. He's young and will only get better.

I could totally see myself breaking on the ball fresh off a bar stool... 10 beers deep and tackling Stefon Diggs in mid air.

Absolutely not. He came on to the scene big time and stepped up when KV went out. He had never once let anyone behind him until that play. He made the pick after our first TD which gave us good field position and ultimately cutting the lead to 3 and shifting the momentum widely in our favor at that point.

If it weren't for him, we'd likely be seeing Case take a QB kneel much earlier and us down by more points. It sucks that he made a bad play at such a critical point, but the game most likely isn't even at that point without him. If he has any strong will at all, and after his presser I assure you he does, I guarantee you he doesn't let that happen again. Sucks that he's had a "career defining moment" so early in his career, but if he replicates and improves on his rookie season which overall was fantastic, Saints fans will get over it and only bitter fans of other teams will let that define him, but real Saints fans will continue to have his back. He's gonna be a special player in the end, I feel it.
