They were a 30 point favorite.

2010 Auburn

Way too low considering what they accomplished.

2004 USC beat 3 ranked teams at the end of year, 4 total.
No. 3 OU
No. 9 Cal
No. 10 Virginia Tech
No. 19 ASU

2010 Auburn beat 5 regular season, 7 total
No. 3 Oregon
No. 8 LSU
No. 10 Alabama
No. 12 Arkansas (Now better to 2004 USC in opponents)
No. 16 Mississippi State
No. 22 South Carolina
No. 22 South Carolina

People are forgetting Auburn's defense sucked dick. Which could impact team rankings.

Exactly! These are the real Sagarin ratings, not the perverted ones created for the BCS which takes out margin of victory. These ratings take into consideration both schedule strength AND margin of victory.

Wasn't Sagarin the one that had Northern Illinois number TWO going into the MAC Title Game?

I'm not arguing at all they should be #1, but they are way too low based on what actually happened on the field. Yes, their defense had issues but obviously none that they couldn't overcome every single week. What about all the teams ahead of them with issues that they couldn't overcome?

That was the BCS's bastardized Sagarin ratings, not the real ones.

All of those teams had much more impressive wins on their resume than Auburn.

There was no split title.

Dude, no offense, but grow the frick up.

It's been 10 years. This is never going away.

The title was split. It's time you dealt with reality.

It's the only BCS era title to be split. Everyone else - Auburn, FSU, Alabama, Miami, Texas...won the AP title - LSU did not.

Just this week on an ESPN article about Harbaugh vs. Carroll in the NFC championship game:

"Carroll won two national titles, and played for a third, at USC before he went to Seattle."

That's history.

Time to give up the fight. LSU wasn't ranked #1 by a large margin in both polls (Coaches, AP) going into the bowl games...USC was.

The Coaches and AP never sided with LSU - the computers did. Human polls (who have decided this thing forever in CFB) chose USC. It was only by contract at the end of the bowls that the coaches were forced to switch their overwhelming vote for USC - to LSU.

The formula was changed after that year because nobody wanted to see another computer champ again.

That's history.

Not saying you didn't deserve a shot at the title unlike Oklahoma. You did deserve a shot. But you were the defacto CPU champ (LSU) vs. the human polls champs...Coaches/AP - (USC).

But to act like it wasn't split is beyond disingenuous and baby-crying...in essence, admitting you do know reality but refuse it - ignorance is bliss, I suppose.

I'd put Miami at 1 personally, but I probably wouldn't change anything else.

Against a top 5 all time defense, while having possibly the greatest defense of all time on the same team.

I'm still waiting for you to list one, just ONE, other team that beat 7 ranked teams. Or even a team that didn't play a conference title game that beat 6.

The #3 team on the list was 2-1 against teams that finished ranked.

Let that sink in...

A team that didn't win its own conference, played 3 ranked teams all season, and lost one of them at home is like 10 spots higher than a team that went 14-0 beating 7 ranked teams.

You are either Jeff Sagarin, a complete fool, or both.

So in 16 years we have 1 team that has beaten 7 ranked teams and 1 team that has beaten 6 w/o a CCG, any other examples?
