Two things... Why do these conference tournaments have to take EVERY team in a conference??? If I'm a bubble team as the #1 seed of a small conference, the quarterfinal game does me no favors and hurts my resume if its a team around 200-300. The WCC does it right moving the top 2 to the semifinals automatically, as do baseball conference tournaments that make that cut after the regular season.
Another thing... If you have a P5 conference where the top 4 teams in a conference are all locks to get in the NCAA, there must be something preventing them from making the conference tournament just teams 5-12. They need the auto bid more than teams 1-4.
