Brenton Scott had a wide open shot to tie it for Indiana State with 10 secs left and he clanked it. He went 0-14, including 0-12 from 3. Ouch.

Redbirds win 77-70.

Any meaningful games today? Especially, for the smaller schools?

Huge upset in the MAAC Tournament Quarterfinal as the 9 seed St. Peter's beat the 1 seed Rider

It is, indeed, the “Wacky MAAC” again this year.

Yesterday, #1 seed, Rider (22-9, 15-3), lost to # 9 seed. St. Peters (14-17, 6-12), in the first quarter final game. St. Pete’s made the quarters by beating Monmouth in a Play In Game on Thursday evening.

Then, in the second quarter final, #2 seed, Canisius (21-11, 15-3) lost to # 7 seed Quinnipiac (12-20, 7-11), who beat Siena in a PIG on Siena’s home court on Thursday evening.

Tonight, #3 seed, Niagara (19-12, 12-6) takes on Fairfield (15-15, 9-9) who beat Marist in the PIG on Thursday evening.

And #4 seed, Iona (17-13, 11-7) takes on #5 seed, Manhattan (14-16, 9-9) in the last quarter final game.

Iona and Manhattan have been the MAAC Tourney Champ in each of the last five years. Iona winning three times and Manhattan winning twice.

This is Tim Cluess’ eighth season as Iona’s Head Coach. He has won 20+ games in each season so far. To do so this season, the Gaels will have to win their game tonight, a semi-final game tomorrow, and the Championship game on Monday. Iona swept Manhattan this season, and if they beat the Jaspers for a third time tonight, they will play St. Peter’s in the semis tomorrow (who the Gaels also swept this season).

I’ve always thought it was tough to beat a team three times in a season, but as long as Iona is the reigning MAAC Champ, all comers have to go through New Rochelle to take the crown.

I’m looking forward to watching.

Go Gaels!!!

The first invitation to dance will be handed out tonight - Belmont vs Murray St. Murray St is a one point favorite. Should be a great game.

The Mountain West used to always be crazy. Especially in the KVH years.

The SEC usually is boring as is the PAC 12 they mostly go chalk

The Big 12 is really bad now. But the Big 8 was usually a great Semi Saturday

Loyola should be a tournament team regardless; they've only lost twice with Clayton Custer in the lineup. And the conference RPI is actually better this year without Wichita.

But you're right, I don't expect the committee to care.

It will be interesting. I do think playing three games in three days, ending in a slugfest deep into Sunday afternoon/evening can put a team in a bind with a quick turnaround the next week. But, I could easily see a team like Michigan lose their mojo in two weeks.

36-22 Loyola at halftime. Shooting touch from 3 returned, so hoping it stays.

46-40 Loyola with 11:57 left. Offensive possessions are getting sloppy.
