I think you missed the point of the doc. Rickey had issues before he started smoking weed.
Btw, I liked the doc and I've never hated Rickey like some, but before we start praising him for being the next Jesus Christ I'd like to hear how he's supporting those other children he fathered.

I'll agree with that. But the marijuana was his way out. I've seen alot of kids get hooked on drugs and quit caring about anything but their next high, marijuana being one of those drugs.
Ricky admitted it in the documentary, he couldn't pass the drug tests because he couldn't stop smoking.
I agree that he had issues before he became an addict, but the addiction to marijuana took away all of his passion for football.

I love the director throwing all of the ESPN talking heads under the bus for their bullshite knee jerk reactions about people
Marrioti called him a "disgrace to humanity."
Theisman looked like a fricking arse hole as usual.
I hope they were all watching and so how ridiculous they looked.
Also, its so disengenuous for Ditka to get on there and talk about Williams, when he put him in a 100% no win situation from the jump. From the draft picks to setting him up the savior of one the worst franchises in history. Giving him the ball 40+ times in games. I dont wanna hear shite from Ditka about Ricky Williams or the New Orleans Saints.
Combine that with the psychological problems he had and Ditka looks even more like an arse

Yes, but he was upset that his former CFL team was using Ricky just to get some publicity and sell some tickets. Ricky had flunked about 4-5 drug tests by that point, and I believe that last time was the test that he tested positive for something other than marijuana. How many times do you have to give someone a chance?
I don't hold any ill will toward Ricky, but if he never played another down of football after 2006, it would have been his fault, and I'm sure he would have been fine with that. He doesn't need football.
