I think they should use the present system for the first 3 weeks, but........Week 4 should have all the top seeds at home.

I think it should be this:

week one higher seed

week two last to travel or higher seed if travel is the same

week three last to travel or higher seed if travel is the same

week four neutral site as equidistant from both schools as can be agreed upon

then week five Superdome

Under my proposal Rummel would have played at home in week 1, week 2 and week 3

Westgate would have played at Mandeville, then at home vs South Lafourche, then at Central in week 3

and both Rummel and Westgate would be preparing to play Friday night somewhere like Olympia Field in Baton Rouge

how is that neutral?

meaning it should be the same driving distance.

now you're nitpicking...

i'd have a list of a few stadiums teams could use... in the NOLA area Tad Gormley, Joe Yenni, Hoss Mehmtas, Bobby Nuss, etc. and other similar sized stadiums in other places, like Cajun Field, Nicholls State, colleges...

it is a helluva lot better proposal than the current system .. it is crap that the top seed has to travel to the 21st seed in the semis .. just plain crap .. and i have NO dog in this hunt at all ... even moving the game to laffy .. still rummel shouldn't have to travel that far ... seriously, why seed the schools if you are going to practically negate the top seed's advantage like this ?

But NISH ended up winning and going on to the Championship

Are you talking about the game in the late 70's / early 80's against St. Augustine ? If so, NISH got destroyed.

7-0 ALL TIME ON THE ROAD IN PLAYOFFS!!

My favorite stat from the Westgate faithful.

Somebody on another site said it best regarding this same statement....

Rummel is undefeated on the road too....

And at home.....

And on turf....

And on grass....

Maybe I am thinking about Acadiana ? Didn't they play St. Aug in semis at Cajun Field. Lafayette had a great team that was beaten by them as well, someone did mention it earlier.

at cajun field
77 bonnabel beat acadiana - unsure of score..
78 St. aug beat Laf. high 30-0 and it wasn't that close.
79 Knights over jackets 16-7 heck of a ball game.....

West Monroe beat Acadiana with Alley 49-14 at ULL as well in the semifinals in 01.

It should be highest seed hosts until the superdome. Louisiana is the only state I've ever seen anything but.
