Also no telling how his family would react but my bet is they'd disown him. Most Mormon families have a similar view of homosexuality and sever all communication with there kids if any of them were gay.
He hit the trifecta as far as that goes: Samoan, Mormon, and College Football Player.

So Manti was still being hoaxed after Notre Dame had completed it's investigation?

Manti is a closest gay. This isnt groundbreaking.

I'm a Mormon. I can tell you for a fact if Teo came out as gay before the next Sunday the church will have excommunicated him and he'd not be welcome.
If his faith is really strong he'd be damn smart to keep it hidden for that reason alone. The church is very intolerant of gays, lesbians, or people who are bi sadly.

How can you belong to a religion where disowning one's own kids just because they're born gay is the norm?

This isn't the thread for that.
ETA: Just appreciate that you can both bring some insight into this situation.

Apparently.
Investigation isn't the right word though...some lady did a few google searches about Te'o and the hoax. No interviews, no photos, no phone records
Speaks for itself...

I'm behind on the interview but watching him trying to force tears and fail makes me think he's an unrepentant liar

Putting myself in his shoes, I'd just admit to being trolled, wonder publicly how I could be so stupid, but I'd talk to any media outlet that wanted to hear my side of the story. Big press conference, the works. I wouldn't be so selective and secretive about it.
Up until today we were led to believe the voice was a woman's voice. That would be bad enough. But the truth is Te'o actually fell in love with a man. There's no getting around that.
Also, his bishop said he talked to Lennah many times..
I've been posting that I thought it was weird that Te'o hasn't tried to figure out who the woman was behind the voice but now we know why he made no effort... he learned it was Ronaiah and didn't want the world to know he fell in love with a man.
If he can fall in love with a voice, and it was real he says... then he fell in love with Ronaiah.
This is Madame Butterfly Victor Victoria shite.

Maybe Ronaiah turned him gay?

This interview is definitive proof he is a liar. More inconsistencies, couldn't answer the one tough question he was asked and tried to fake tears
frick this guy. I'm done with this story.

I've been done but he keeps coming out with bullshite lies/stories that draw me in
It's obvious he was hoaxed at some point and went along with it because he realized he fell in love with a man
He keeps prolonging this shite himself. Just nut up, do 10 interviews across multiple platforms and explain everything.
If he did that, people would still think he's an idiot as they do now, but everything would be on the table. I imagine it would blow over eventually.

The most confusing part is... Why would the guy reveal that the girlfriend was not dead?
If the story was buried, why would he bring the issue back to the surface?
None of this makes sense.

Because Rononiah wanted to resume a relationship with Manti. This was the only way to do it.

Also, the tweets I posted earlier shows people were talking about Te'o being catfished Dec 4th, two days before Ronaiah called Te'o. And the tweets linked Lennah's twitter account so Ronaiah knew it was getting out.
