Mark McGwire
I saw him in person the year he hit 70. He didn’t do anything during the game, but he put on a show in BP. It was at Chase Field (RIP Bank One Ballpark) and he was hitting moonshot after moonshot to the upper deck.

Bonds is in the same boat.

If you took away every stat from Barry Bonds' 7 MVP seasons he would still have 440 HRs and 359 stolen bases No other player in history has as many HRs and steals as Barry Bonds minus 7 of his best seasons
Amazing.

I was at Chase that same year it was incredible it was early to mid June and Mac was just hitting the ball all over the upper areas
I saw him multiple times that year in Busch. The sound off the bat was incredible
The loudest zip I’ve personally heard from a fastball was Darren Dreifort vs us at Wichita. It sounded tornado was coming.

Might as well put Canseco in too
He was only .266 with 462 homers. In an era where homers are discounted.

Baseball writers like to smell their own farts.

Just like with Charlie Hustle.

It's their lying and dickhead attitudes that keeps them out.
The HOF is privately owned by a family, they'll let in (or not) whoever they choose, and they can always fall back on their morals clause to exclude the roiders.

It's hilarious that they won't let certain steroid users into the Hall of Fame, yet the guy who oversaw the steroid era and completely turned a blind eye to it, Bud Selig, IS in the Hall of Fame.

Including the managers (Torre, LaRussa, etc)

I’m confused with your quote
Rickey had over 1400 steals and nearly 300 HRs. Are you saying bond had more, or bonds had more if we took away Ricky‘s best seven seasons?
It’s Thanksgiving. I’m not doing math.

Probably makes more sense this way.

Maddux pitched in the same time frame, had a better playoff ERA, and didn't juice.

I fell in love with major league baseball during the Sosa, McGwire homerun chasing season.
