Boom what are we gonna do with Capela, its worrisome bc he's gonna get a huge deal this summer. We played the whole fourth quarter last night without him in the comeback, we went to our death lineup like the warriors. Capela is a stud but I feel like we should maximize his value soon in a trade. I dont know whats wrong with Gordon either, he's been in a real funk since CP3 returned, but we're firing on all cylinders, amazing we get no love, still +550 to win the west in vegas.

the thing w Capela is Deandre can opt out of his contract after this year and may be willing to play for less than Capela to be w James and Chris. Capela may be wanting to get that big pay day. Can’t blame him.if you’re CC and you can get Deandre for less money thats pretty desirable imo. Much better defender.

Gordon is just in a little shooting slump he’ll be ok. He’ll finish games that matter. The finishing 5 from last night is what you get v warrriors w PJ playing center.

I dont know why but I thought I remember reading Cp3 and Deandre dont like each other at all and that was part of why Cp3 wanted out. Im just saying capela is a beast but we were down 14 after 3, benched him the whole 4th and came back and won. He is very valuable but I would be ok with moving him vs paying him $20-30m annually starting next year.

Cmon okie you know the NFL is a qb driven league, if you have a QB you're set if you don't you're in purgatory. Deshaun Watson had what 18 TD in 6 starts? I dont think there's anything harder in all of pro sports than finding a competent QB, look at how awful the texans have been since Watson went down. If Watson comes back healthy and stays healthy, the texans are in a great spot for a long long time.

Did you watch the man in action? He was insane, he was almost unstoppable, the texans although 3-3 were actually title contenders in Vegas, like top 5 at that point. He went into Seattle and tore apart that team in Seattle, which nobody does. He dropped 57 on the titans in his first home start. He almost beat New England in New England his 2nd career start and would have if o'brien wasn't such a scared coach. Watson is so nasty, hopefully he comes back bc at one point we were averaging I wanna say 34.6 ppg with watson and like 9 ppg with tom savage. Will Fuller was catching multiple td's per game, our offense was insane but it was our D that didn't show up this year bc of all the injuries.

They were 3-4 when he went down.

I'm not saying that he can't be great (and therefore Houston become elite) but let's not pretend they were.

Astros and Rockets are.

Texans are not.

He didn’t start the first game. They were 3-3 in the games he played, with the losses being a 3 point loss to the Patriots, 8 points to the Chiefs, and 3 points to the Seahawks... and all of those games he was great in as the Texans scored 33, 34, and 38 points respectively.

And the games they won they scored 13, 57, and 33.

Watson was tearing it up before he got hurt. The defense had many injuries and was struggling.

But the sentiment here in Houston is that the Texans now have their franchise quarterback and the future is bright.

Clint Capela on the other hand is quietly putting up almost 20 pts 15 reb and 3 blks per 36 as the 5 option on the best team in the NBA. The Pels could dump davis and rebuild around an elite young big like Capela and maybe start to turn the ship around with a core of Jrue,Demarcus and Capela.

Just throwing out some ideas since the NBA rumor mill is dry these days, I think the Rockets would definitely be interested in downgrading from Clint to Anthony Davis if we could get 2 firsts and the pels eat 50% of the remaining salary on davis' albatross deal.

This this this. His 3 losses were to New england bc bill obrien didn't wanna go for 4th and inches at the patriots twenty to seal it. The 5-0 at the time chiefs beat us and watson threw 5 td, and he had the most yards ever vs seattle something like 400+ pass yards and 50+ rush yards in seattle in the game we lost. That's pretty damn elite to me for a guy in his first 6 NFL starts. When you drop 34 ppg on the offensive side of things, if you lose, its on the defense.

He didn't start the first game but didn't he come in early and still end up with like 25 passes?

And I'm not saying you don't.

I'm saying the franchise is not elite...yet. They easily could be soon but they're not there (Watson hurt or not).

I believe he only played in the second half of the first game.

And I don't believe he claimed the Texans were elite.

Their 3 most important pieces are the top 3 "wait for the playoffs" type players of all time.
Chris Paul is fantastic in the playoffs.

Don't be that casual fan who uses the team accomplishments ONLY to judge the player, you know you were all over those dudes when they did it to Lebron.

It's gotta be horrible for all the LA guys on this board. They have to watch this city of Houston enter an era where we're elite in all major sports while the Pels and Saints get bounced in the opening round year after year.

Seems rather clear to me...

I took it to mean we are entering an era.. meaning for years to come. Texans aren’t there yet but the expectation is there with Watson.

Terry Stotts and Lillard talking some trash about the officiating:

quote:

Also at the foul line. Houston was 34 for 42; Portland 9 for 12. “It was ridiculous, “Stott said. Did the referees do a poor job calling the game? “Did I say that?” Stotts asked. What did he mean, then? “There was a big disparity,” was all he would say. I’m willing to say the Rockets — especially Harden, who draws fouls like lead to a magnet — got the benefit of the officiating more often than not. “Some were fouls,” Lillard allowed, “and some I didn’t think were fouls.” – via Portland Tribune

Did they know they're a JUMP shooting team?

They only ever got buckets under the basket after a rebound.

If you want calls Mr. Stotts, then go to the hole and draw contact like Paul and Harden.
