I expect this to be a long series.

Rockets will have to get hot from three for this to be a series.

Houston reminds me of that Thunder team that took the Lakers to 6 games as an 8 seed, where you knew it wasn't their time but they were on to something. I'm excited to see what happens in free agency with this team.
Not trying to be a dick, but the 2009-2010 Thunder team would absolutely wipe the floor with this Rockets team. Rockets are at least 2 major pieces away from competing with the Thunder and Spurs of the world.

Rockets need Asik and Parsons in the game longer for this to be a series.

Need another defensive big. We're getting murdered when Asik comes out.

As great as Harden is, Presti absolutely made the correct decision in keeping Ibaka over him. If they can keep Ibaka, KD, & Westbrook together for a while, they will win a title. It's crazy how high Ibaka's ceiling is and that he's only 23 years old.
Holy shite, finally someone on the MSB that understands what the Thunder was doing. Everyone always says "Harden > Westbrook" but the comparison should be Ibaka and Harden. It was absolutely the right move to keep Ibaka. It's insane to see how much better he's gotten every year and he just keeps getting better. He's start to shoot the 3 some and actually shooting them pretty well. He's slowly developing a post game as well. And he just lead the league in blocks for the 2nd straight year.
I LOVED Harden and was so damn sad when I found out it was traded. But the guy is all offense (and damn good at that, no doubt) but does not play hard on defense. You had to keep Ibaka.

Lol, ok.

They are one major peice away, not two. They are also the youngest team in the league which is why I made the comparison. Houston could be one of the top 4 teams in the West as early as next year.

Ok, so who's the 2nd piece next to Harden if they're only one player away?
Posted on 4/21/13 at 10:03 pm to okietiger
Have to miss the game. Can anyone tell me if James Harden still travels everytime he drives to the basket?

Did you just start watching basketball like 2 years ago? Who was the 3rd piece when Kobe and Pau were winning titles? Or Kobe and Shaq for that matter? You don't have to have 3 super stars. Parsons is definitely capable of being a 3rd option on a contender and Lin would be a pretty damn good 4th option. I'm not saying they are a carbon copy of the Thunder, I just see them as a team on the rise, faking their lumps this year and being better next year.

Thunder should have kept Jeff Green.

Best part of the playoffs is getting to hear EJ, Chuck, and the gang on a nightly basis. They crack me up

they have to maintain a 3rd scoring option
this offseason is a big test of that. losing kmart could really hurt them

i think he's about hitting it on the team. he's a good shot blocker and defender, and he's got a good jumper (he can extend it to the 3 and add some more). he has no post game and his usage will always be affected by playign with kd/westbrook. he's nto a shot creator, either

paul millsap fits their offense. if they can get millsap and another defensive big, they're going to improve a good deal

This should be good.

Ever heard of Andrew Bynum? Pretty good "lil" center when healthy. Jesus. They also got major contributions at that point from Lamar Odom.

Or Kobe and Shaq for that matter?
Oh you mean the most dominating center in the history of the NBA? Gotcha. Yeah you don't need a 3rd superstar when you have Shaq. Just go find the next "Shaq" and you guys are golden.

I'm not even really talking about super stars. You need at least a superstar and then 2 stars to boot. The Rockets have 1 super star, and that is it. You also are going need 2 additional star players when your super star, in this case Harden, doesn't play defense that well.

Yeah this game DEFINITELY convinces me that this will "be a long series" and will be reminiscent of the Lakers vs Thunder opening series in 2010 that went 6 games.

He thinks he's a fricking point guard sometimes.
