It's HS football and it's consistency. The top half in that district will require the stars to produce to win. STM-Acadiana-Southside-Barbe all can make long playoff runs. I don't think Southside is the most dynamic of that bunch, but Southside has the best backfield in the district, or at least the deepest. Dies, Williams, Broussard, and Francois could all go off for 150+ and multiple scores and have. If you get them down they can have trouble coming back, see the Ruston game last year. If it's close or they have a lead they are just so hard to stop. Especially if your team relies on scoring quick and they are perfectly find grinding out 4 yards a pop and running the clock to triple 0's. I think Barbe is good enough to go 8-2 and finish 2nd in the district, or maybe in a tie for first. I just don't see any team going undefeated in that district.

Barbe has STM and Acadiana back to back, 2-0 isn't impossible but 1-1 would be great.

STM has Acadiana at the back end of Teurlings, Jesuit, and Catholic, then plays Barbe and Southside in consecutive weeks. Once again 3-0 isn't impossible, but 1-2 isn't either.

Acadiana similar to STM plays that game at the back end of a strong stretch playing Central, Zachary, and Carencro the previous weeks. They do get Barbe and Southside later and spread out, but 3-0 just seems like a stretch here. I could definitely see them going 2-1, but the week after Carencro against STM and traveling to Barbe that may be looking to rebound after a loss to STM, 1-2 isn't crazy either.

Southside might have the most difficult stretch as they end the season STM, Acadiana, and Barbe. They do get STM and Barbe at home though that's not a tough drive for STM, but I expect the crowd to be pretty raucous for that game. Barbe game really depends on how bad Curtis wants a district title depending on how things fall. If Southside has any injuries, I could see them being overly cautious with the guys mentioned earlier because Curtis' goal with this class has to be a trip to the Dome. I could easily see them going 2-1 or 1-2 in this stretch.

I don't see any team winning this district by going 7-0. 6-1 or even a two or three way tie at 5-2 is far more realistic.
