It's been going on for 100 years because there wasn't a choice.

It was a choice and Orleans and Jefferson made it 50 years ago…Yenni and Memtsas were state of the art when they were built

I’m definitely bummed Major League Rugby about losing teams but many different leagues like the NBA, MLS, and even the NFL lost teams in their first 10 years

Sounds like The Gold are leaving the door open for a future return after the 2026 season.

Would the rest of the league let them take a hiatus and return? Probably not. I think they’re done. Those Frenchies have destroyed multiple rugby programs in the U.S.

This is a bummer - games were a lot of fun and easy to take the family to. Seems like this is the end, but I hope they can figure something out to keep it rolling.

They should build a new, state of the art high school football stadium there. New Orleans needs one badly. Compare our stadiums to the ones elsewhere around the country. It is embarrassing for an area that takes football so seriously.

Louisiana is poor. Those states are rich.

It wouldn't shock me to see someone buy the franchise rights and bring a team back to Atlanta.

(Owner of the Rugby ATL team died, and the franchise was bought and moved to Los Angeles in 2023.)

The only team that would benefit from a new stadium at Zephyr Field is Curtis…

Every big football school in the area would benefit. Gormley parking is awful. Stands too far from field amenities awful.

LINK
Utah and Miami are seeking funding/ investors and might be next up on the chopping block.

Hope I'm wrong but 2026 might be the beginning of the end for MLR.
