We all have an either an in-law or a neighbor that looks just like John Hadl.

John Hadl has always been one of those mythical figures for me because the bulk of his prime was in the AFL with the Chargers before I was born.

He definitely looks like a guy who lived in the suburbs with his wife and two kids, drove a station wagon with wood paneling, and sold vacuum cleaners door-to-door for a living.

John Hadl didn't have the benefit of baby juice.

HA! resembles Dolphin kicker Garo Yepremian there on that card. John Hadl looked 50 years old at age 30. But what an arm and potent offense he ran.
Had targets like Lance Alworth and Garry Garrison. If only the Chargers had any defense back when he played to prevent 40-34 shoot outs.

RIP.
nice he got to see he's J'hawks have a turnaround season Amen to that.
He was THE QB of the good Charger teams in the AFL. Same division as the Raiders/Chiefs so didn't win an AFL Championship during his years.
The team that wore the Powder Blues with the Bolt on the hats in the first place.
Halfback Dickie Post from Houston was on some of those teams and Hadl's main target was top 5 All Timer HOF Lance Alworth from Arkansas.
RIP, Mr. Hadl. You gave joy to a lot of folks.

Just one of many crappy quarterbacks to play for the Packers after Bart Starr retired. He ranks right up there with Jim Del Gaizo, Carlos Brown, and Rich Campbell for all time greats to play the position for Green Bay.

RIP but you sucked for the Packers

As I recall the Pack gave up a shitload for him as well.
Part of the reason they were so bad in the 70s.
