I honestly thought he’d been dead for 30 years

Ok I was confused. I thought it was insinuated that Howard made a comment.

I’m old enough to remember his Nestles Quik television commercial, and I believe it may have been in black & white (it could have been my b&w tv set).

My Grandpa and Frank were Co-Captains of the 57-58 Ohio State basketball team together and have always been close friends. Got to meet him at Yankees Spring training when I was younger and remember being shocked how tall he actually was standing next to my GP. RIP Frank

Relating an old family story about my grandmother…

Ohio State was in the Orlando area (Winter Park) to play Rollins College. My grandmother was involved in an accident and was thrown from her Studebaker convertible, thankfully not seriously injured.

Howard, who was eating at a restaurant with hit teammates, went out into the street and helped her to her feet.

He once got into it with the fans in Detroit( I think) and told them " I'll take you big guys one at a time. You little guys- you can all come at once".

This one of the best quotes I have ever read.
