I thought with Cowen announcing his retirement this morning that maybe RJ would be gone. Not to be.

Same ol' Tulane...

The chances Tulane could get a better coach than him are very slim. Though with his recent performances he's being overpaid.
I knew he wouldn't be fired, but there was some talk that he'd retire.

Indeed it is, great news.

Green Bay Packers LB Dezman Moses with a little sarcasm directed at Cowen

I wonder how many years he has left on his contract? Only one trip to post season in 7 years, can't that many years left on the deal.

He has like three years left on his contact. No way tulane pays 2 mill to get rid of a baseball coach.

In 2008 he got a 3 year extension till 2015.

I'm sure he got big raises in 2001 and 2005

Your probably correct. He has two years left. I would think he's making around 600k. Still tulane ain't buying that deal out

Yea, Tulane doesn't like firing coaches. It almost always takes way too long.

If this guy can't win with 7 Legislative Scholarships to pass around, he should be fired. He has one of the biggest "unfair advantages" with those extra 7 scholarships and he still can't even make the damn post-season.

The weenies paid Bennie Ellender 10 yrs not to coach its football team. One of the greatest screwups in college football, except no cared. And no one cares bout Jones, either.

He can't just give those scholarships to anyone. The requirements rule out tons of kids and you can actually lose the scholarship if your GPA goes below 2.3
And as far as the 11.7 scholarships, even with a 50% scholly you're still paying 30K a year at Tulane. Most people would rather not, especially for 4 years.

That was just stupid, why give a baseball coach a 3 year extension, with 4 years left on his current deal? They haven't made postseason since the extension, & 3 of the last 4 years they have had losing records in CUSA.
