Maybe he is. It's not that hard to believe one singular player could be at the top of his position at the lower schools, it's happened before.

I watched some of the Troy game against Coastal Carolina last year. He's definitely good. But I'd never heard anyone suggest he's the best in the country before.

DeMarcus Ware played at Troy, so it’s not unheard of for the best linebacker to play there.

Martial is probably too short for NFL teams to ever give him a legit shot.

The best college linebacker once played at Buffalo.

I didn't mean to say anything against Troy. It's just an opinion I hadn't heard about Martial. Thought it was interesting.

Mack went to Buffalo for another example

The guy can't have much eligibility left after this year. He's been at Troy at least 3 years

It's still hilarious to me that the old hype machine is an assistant at ULM now.

I didn't realize he was at ULM either lol. Should have stayed at WVU. Either way, Pat White and Steve Slaton were a treasure to watch if you're a CFB fan.

I remember when Bret Favre made Curley Hallman a great coach too.

John Matuszak was the first pick in the NFL draft and he played for a school that stopped playing football two years after he played there.

Brian Urlacher played for New Mexico.

Jerry Rice played for Mississippi Valley State.

Walter Payton played for Jackson State.

Deacon Jones played for Mississippi Vocational College.

Not sure why you thought it was thread worthy. Lots of great players at small schools. Could be.

This from a former offensive guru who put up 4 FG on a SWAC team last week.

Tell that to Sam Mills, if he was still alive!

Ware ran thru LSU's oline like shite thru a screen door in 2004, if he doesn't get hurt that game they probably win.

Pff is really high on him. Carlton did an interview over the summer with 2 For 1 Drafts podcast which is now called The Tailgate. A very good listen, kid has a hell of a story and plays phenomenal for being undersized. Was a zero star prospect coming out of high-school and walked on at Troy.
