Joking aside, I wonder if Nebraska is going to try to avoid the buyout and say he was dismissed with cause because he put his players at risk. It is probably unlikely, but I don’t think it is too far fetched.

He's also "one of them". Country club mentality runs deep at some of these schools.
They could have waited 30 days and the buyout would drop $7.5 million. I think they wanted to give him a golden parachute.

I'm sure the Nebraska fans love Scott Frost too. He's a Lincoln native and national championship QB.
However, the fans hate his results as a head coach. He's got a 16-31 record there and has never won more than 5 games in a season.
