Lebron didn't even have to beat him off the dribble, the defender over ran him and left a wide open lane to the basket.

I never said he didn't put up great numbers. But there's no excuse for his 4th quarter play in that macs finals. 0.
He still had great numbers through 3 but he was needed in the 4th.

He learned from that and now knows how to step on throats

I don't understand the question.

LeBron not clutch?

Does not compute.

Soo 95% of the league is athletic, quick and explosive enough to change direction while starting at the 3 point line and being able to get a clean layup in under 2 seconds?

And you have to assume 95% of the league has a good enough jumper to make the defender come out that far to respect the outside game

George wanted to force LBJ left because the scouting report says LBJ pulls up and shoots jumpers when he goes left. LBJ outsmarted and set George up. An NBA defender doesn't just randomly fall asleep in overtime of a playoff game.

This. I remember MJ said when studying tape of LBJ, he would make him go left as well. Lebron just got a better shot that time.

Watching the game now, its pretty embarrassing how shitty and one sided this officiating was. Hansbrough gets elbowed in the face, foul on Hansbrough. Duane Wade rips George Hill's arm from the ball, good steal. Bosh shoots a jumper, yells really loudly, and a foul gets called after Indiana secures the rebound. I can't believe the refs let it get to OT.

Eta: wow, I don't think the Heat knocked the ball out of bounds all night. I do like watching LeBron walk around incredulous about 1 foul not being called on him. You'd always see Jordan whining on the court in crunch time. What a bunch of whining pansies.

Uh...Lebron got fouled the layup before the game winner and that foul to net George 3 FTs was weak. Indiana ended up with more FTs than Miami even though Miami is very good (along with SA) at not fouling. If you even read the game thread, people were commenting that there wasn't a hometown bias.

But you were looking for something, and you tried to find what you wanted.

Not a hater but if defining clutch is making a layup then what was Jordan and Kobe? He had a wide open lane to the basket and his is a very decent size guy (although DJ Augustine can evidentially bulldoze him over)? It was a great play but clutch is game winning shots, not layups.

Funny thing is, that scouting report is basically obsolete now.

MJ would have been right a few years ago, but the data shows now he's I think just as strong or nearly as strong going left as he is right.

This is as classic as a StraightCashHomey post can get.

You couldn't possibly be more predictable in that spot.

So clutch is now, only now and never before, defined as making life as hard as possible on yourself and making THAT shot?

MSB gonna MSB

What does that even mean? I don't recall anyone ever saying MJ or Kobe was NOT clutch for making layups.

I honestly can't remember a clutch Kobe playoff shot after the first round. Kobe has hit most of his "clutch" shots during the regular season.

He definitely has some, but the volume of the big final 10 seconds of a playoff game that Kobe's hit is greatly exaggerated.

Lebron's volume is slowly creeping up there. Hell, he added 2 last night...err...we can't count those 2 they were layups.
