It was a bullshite call. Sutton wasn’t catching that even if Hayward wasn’t there so he runs into Heyward and draws a bullshite penalty.

I’m not one of these people who think defensive backs should get away with everything either. The Legion of Boom were massive frauds to me because they held on damn near every pass. The chargers got fricked good and proper on this call.

Agree, if it’s given at the spot shouldn’t offensive pass interference on say a 40 yard pass be marked back 40 yards? I’d like to see a 2nd and 50.

PI has ruined the nfl

NFL needs to do a social experiment and just go back to the days before the Mel Blount rule.

And 2004 when Bill Polian complained that Manning's receivers got roughed up too much by the Pats.

Lets see how many fans come back to the NFL.

Pass interference is bad. All the ridiculous player safety rules are what is ruining the NFL. The allure of football is the violence. Quit legislating the violence out of the game. All the QB-centric rules are useless, anyway. Was attendance and ratings down for the Saints while Brees was out? People watch for the game, not so much individual players. Make Football Violent Again!

Hayward was in Sutton’s way of getting to the ball. Sutton did a great job initiating the contact then falling over though. There was no reason for Hayward to be where he was. The ball was overthrown and Hayward was basically running it out.

Because Hayward was running in basically a straight line to an uncatchable ball and Sutton runs into him, it's DPI?

The defensive player should have some ability to run to the ball and not worry that if an offensive player does too, any collision will be called on him.

To me, it looked like Hayward was on a better line to the ball and got there first. It shouldn't be on him to run away from the WR.

Or he threw the flag because it was pass interference

Offensive pass interference maybe, it sure wasn't defensive pass interference. DB was playing the ball, had position on the ball, and the receiver ran over the DB's back trying to get to the ball.
