4 out of the first 6. Not bad for a team with zero expectations.

This team is likable, and it's young players are actually performing. WMB still strikes out a little too much, but when it leads to days like today, I think I'm fine with it.

I'm fighting the urge to have expectations. The first couple of weeks will go great, and then the younger players will slump when the league gets film on their hitting tendencies.

Well
JBJ hasn't really hit while that SS is hot but he isn't going to win any batting crowns

Right now Pedroia, Ellsbury, Victorino, and Middlebrooks (thanks to today) have carried load offensively. If their pitching holds up they have a good 1/2 and an ok 3 to win 80-85 games. I wouldn't expect much from Lackey and Denpster will just be an innings eater like Wakefield was

Lackey looked ok until he messed his bicep up.

It'll be an interesting AL East if the Rays slump for a length of time, if not they'll take it easily.

Dickey has looked bad in his 2 starts
Would you trust Lackey over course of season?

I don't trust John Lackey at all. I was just noting that it was interesting he didn't look like complete dog shite.

Dubrount has a ton of potential, he's one of the highest strike out people in the majors.

Jays haven't hit their stride yet so that is worth noting... Lackey went 4 1/3 before an injury? Which isn't a good sign for someone who hasn't pitched in awhile anyway....

Wouldn't surprise me to see him with a 4.25-4.50 ERA for the season while only making 20-25 starts

Red Sox is the only team in the AL East that looks good right now. Everybody else in the division looks awful.

Lester is looking great which is a huge huge plus. Napoli hasn't loosened up yet but he will make the monster his bitch. Nava is an excellent bench option thus far and Iglesias is shockingly hitting well. The Drew experiment might be short lived is this keeps up.

I think C Buch is the key I actually like this team alot this year. If Buch can stay healthy and with the way Lester has been looking back to old form that's a solid 1/2. Dempster will get his 12-15 wins and Lackey who i can't stand was back to his Angels days with his fastball in the 90's and his slider and curve back to form. The bullpen will be solid I like our ugly fat closer w/Bailey, Miller and the Japs. Napoli will hit in that ballpark, the shortstop won't hit this way all year but i love the way he plays short, he's keeping the seat warm for Bogarts next year. I hope JBJ can hit MLB pitching b/c he will have to take Ells place next year esp. if he has a big deal and Boras will get him paid. So far so good!
