I honestly believe this year’s Georgia team would beat Alabama if they played right now. Things can change by the time they do meet.
I have never felt that way about any other UGA team. I believe they would stifle Bama’s O and make the Freshman turn the ball over.

No other teams received 1st place votes. And if you do the math, 25 pts for a 1st place vote, 24 for 2nd and on down the line, every single AP member ranked AL and GA either 1st or 2nd.
The coaches poll is similar, with Bama getting 63 first place votes and 2 in 2nd, with Georgia getting the opposite. It is clear they're 1 and 2, and a majority seem to think Alabama is better, given their 116 first place votes compared to UGA's 11.
All that to say it doesn't matter where you rank them, they're going to play each other at least once this year. Everyone else is playing for 3rd place.

I see no issue with this
If both teams can handle business then we will see the answer to who will get to be #1 going into the CFP.
And then we'll have to do it all over again in Indy.

Bryce Young is a sophomore.
It will be an interesting game. I think if they played Saturday Bama would win. Bama is good enough on defense to completely shut down Georgia right now, just as Clemson did. If their offense progresses at a higher rate than the Bama defense, I’d lean towards giving Georgia the edge in December. Lot of ifs though. Our defense tends to get stronger as the year goes on.

Early in the season, when both lose there will be lots of excuses….Clemson almost beat UGa and UF almost beat Bama. So….still head and shoulders above everyone
