They've been answering questions for months about her actions, not about their play. It's hilarious that you think that being forced to "have her back" shows her teammates are behind everything she says.
One player actually left the team (albeit not a great player) due to her antics. So saying she had the backing of everyone on that team whether outwardly or what the really felt to themseleves is laughable. I guarantee there was at least one starter that objected to her taking a knee, then when forced to stand chose to stood there with that smug frown during our anthem. The camera literally goes to her every time and stays there. It's a total distraction for her teammates. They overcame it, good for them.

When she opened her mouth and said the comments and stuck by them , the damage was already done. It wasn't and still isn't important what her teammates thought of her comments. Nobody cares.
She's on a team that allegedly is representing the UNITED States of America and here she is shitting on half of the American population that voted for the President. That is divisive as hell, especially when her position is not political.
If it were the reverse and this was Obama and his tranny wife we're talking about, I would agree with the comments and still think she was a fricking retard for saying that when she's a member of Team USA and a complete dereliction of her obligations to professional behavior in representing the UNITED States of America.

There wasn't a unanimous team vote allowing her to kneel, or to speak out against the country that she represents, or refusing to sing the anthem which every other team member did, or complain about the men playing a gold cup final on her day. SHE MADE THESE COMMENTS THE DAYS BEFORETHEIR GRAND FINALE.
That is fact.
If you want to be obtuse and ignore these facts, that's on you.
She caused distractions that hindered the team. Another fact.
That's selfish in my book. And a bad teammate no matter how they feel in retrospect.

Key difference here is that I'm a private citizen and not a public figure representing the USA on the world stage like Rapinoe is. I have no responsibility to be apolitical and keep my comments to myself.
Rapinoe is the one that started all of this. She's the one that opened her mouth first.
