Heading to Arlington in a couple weeks, first time at a Rangers game. Anyone have any comments on the stadium, suggestions? I've heard good things, look forward to being out there.

get there a little early, around 5:30 I'd say. Park in the M lot with the regular crowd so you can take the short walk to the stadium. Try to sit on the first base side so you aren't in the sun and get the 24 inch hot dog.

my only complaint about the place is there's nothing around it... no bars or resturants... it just sits in the middle of a bigass parking lot.

with that said, i've enjoyed my experiences there.

It's a great atmosphere for a ballgame, just don't go to any mid-afternoon games. It gets SO. DAMN. HOT.

This is one thing I know I will be disappointed about, I like parks with an atmosphere around them not just inside. However, I've still heard good things, so I guess I should enjoy it.

There are a couple of bar type places to go to inside out in centerfield. I think they are open pretty early before the game and I think stay open after the game as well. Havent been personally, and I'm sure they are price gouging, but its something.

Theres a few restaurants near it, just not in walking distance. But check out the Captain Morgan club out in the outfield and the Vandergriff Plaza. Just a neat ballpark all around. But yes definitely sit 1st base side or you will melt.

Definetely get there early since they've done so many renovations in just the past two off-seasons. Make sure to get there early since there will be so much going on. BP for the visiting team will be going on, the centerfield plaza area has the new Captain Morgan Club (anyone can enter if you have a ticket) plus lots of other food choices out there. This past off-season they changed up the home plate entrance from what I've heard but I've yet to see it. It's not much to do around there but it's not too far driving distance to any restaurants, bars, etc.

I'll be going to my first games of the season for the Blue Jays vs. Rangers series. Going to all four games.

I loved going there when my dad worked in Dallas. We'd either sit behind home plate or in the Cuervo Club (now the Capital One Club) which was also behind home plate.

I'd recommend the club or a seat in the shade if it's an afternoon game.

Some renovation pictures (including Capital One Club)

I got tickets in the Club Level Terrace, 244... I didn't realize there wasn't an enclosed club or anything, but looks like I will go to Captain Morgan Club before the game and maybe early in the game...

The damn thing has been there almost 20 years and still not a fricking thing around it. They value the land for parking and nothing else. They need something around there.

I always valet park. It is quick and easy. Pull up right to the front and no walking. I think it was $25-30.

There's some interesting restaurant/bar probably a mile away that you can walk from.

I ate there and then walked to Cowboys stadium (pass literally right by Rangers ballpark on the way there.)

For the life of me I can't remember the name of it though. Right near six flags and some hotels as well. Cool place.
