Question about the Seahawks defense?

Is there any particular reason they get away with all the holdings and PI no calls. Do they do a good job of masking it or hiding it or have they built a reputation that officials assume they are making plays on their talent. Not trying to troll just a general question.
I can remember back to the 2002 LSU-Alabama game when Corey Webster made a pick in the endzone after getting away with obvious PI, the official said that big time programs get away with it because of the reputation that they have the talent to make plays and shut down receivers. Announcer called it dynasty calls and compared it to Duke in basketball. Are we seeing a similar occurrence?

It's starting to get to the point where we are overrating the amount of holding going on.

I think their philosophy is just do it all game and maybe only get called for it two or three times.
Now, they have the reputation of "Seahawks" football and they get away with it even more. Not sure how that makes a ton of sense...but that's what every game caller describes it as.

The theory is that the refs won't call holding on every single play, so getting called for holding once or twice a game is worth it if you can get away with it every other play.

According to roddy toddy white, they've perfected defensive holding. If you can get away with it, do it.

No it's because they are a Super Bowl team and when you sit down and watch them play you see their defense get away with a lot. There is some blatant no calls.

Who cares?
Honestly, they're NOT gonna call holding every play. Its a smart strategy.
Its like Wisconsin and Louisville in CBB. If NBA refs called their games, every player would foul out in the 1st half.
And besides... Some of yall are REALLY over-exaggerating how much holding the Seahawks get away with.

Might not be every play but I can recall 3-4 times it happened blatantly in the Saints and 49ers games where the refs just let it go. Even in the MNF against the Rams I recall a play where they got away with it. They tried it with Arizona but Fitzgerald was too physcial to hold.
I know there are blown calls but they seem to be consistent in getting away with and having a couple of blatant Def holding and PI no calls.

All you have to do is watch a couple of Seahawks games and you will see that it isn't an overreaction. They constantly hold past 5 yards. They grab WRs when they go to make their cuts. And, they arrive slightly early a fair share of times the ball is thrown their way. They are severely overaggressive also and rarely get called for personal fouls like other teams do. This is multiplied x10 when they play at home.
The real problem is that 90% of WRs, TEs, and RBs in the NFL are soft as Charmin. And, refs are generally going to let the toughest guy win it out in a DB vs. WR battle. If you come off the line, get pushed and just back down, you aren't going to get calls. But, that doesn't change the fact that Seattle's DBs get away with a ton of stuff, especially at home.

Sherman even wrote in the blog that it was a 'bs call'. Seriously? They get away with being physical past the '5 yards' more than any team in the NFL this year.
I think they're overall better than the saints, I can accept that perfectly fine because we wouldn't be able to outshoot denver even if we were in the superbowl.
The issue I have is that the refs are inconsistent as hell with the defensive holding/PI in games vs. seattle. They mug the crap out of opponents and get away with it 90% of the time, but when the opponents mug them or get physical they get called more often than not.

It'll be interesting to see how they get called away from home in the Super Bowl. I expect one of these two:
1. Manning to light them up with 4-5 TDs and Denver wins by 20+.
2. The Seahawks hurt several Denver players and win a close one due to TOs.
If Denver can not turn the ball over, I don't think Seattle can win. Of course, I have felt like that about Seattle the last 5 weeks, and people can't stop turning the ball over against them. So, I guess what we'll really see is Denver turn the ball over 3-4 times and lose by less than 10.
