For the same reason John Wall is. They are both sophomores.

While he is already a star, this is just his 2nd year

He didn't play the 1st year....he was Rookie of the Year last year

And john wall is nowhere near the star level of BG
actually hes not even a star, rising star is the right term for him

I know what you mean i was just saying its kinda his third
i just think its stupid that a dude who is on SC every night would be considered a "rising star"

Even though he didn't play his first year he was still in the league getting payed. technically it is his third year

Well yea, however you can't win Rookie of the Year as a 2nd year player

So he can mean mug everyone.

I think it's always been the 'rising stars' game. Even when it was rookie vs soph. Guessing they just kept the name. The best 1st & 2nd year players always play

Why? Because Blake makes amazing dunks?
Wall's numbers are exceptional.

Wall's numbers are exceptional.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Wall is a 21 year old PG who has the ball in his hands constantly. He averages 17/8 and blocks more shots than Griffin.
Westbrook and Deron are 1/2 in the league in turnovers per game. Kobe, Lebron, Rondo, Nash, Durant, Lin, and Rubio round out the top 10. Soooo I'd say TPG isn't telling the full story for an "exceptional" player

he's 18/8/5 48% in 12 FEB games 2:1 ast/TO. He's turned it on

I never said he wasn't great, I'm just saying EXCEPTIONAL numbers, as the other poster used that word, are 20/10 and under 4 TO
