Idk how this is a joke

Fifth or sixth round was what was expected when the news first broke...I think some of yAll let the shitty sources saying it was going to be severe go to your heads

If those reports didn't come out a couple days ago, you wouldn't be outraged...this is about what was expected

5th rounder.

They could have at least suspended the sound guy to make me feel better.

They fired the marketing director and blamed him.

I was expecting a 3rd rounder. A 5th rd pick is good news for the Falcons.

The VP of event marketing, coincidentally named Roddy White, was found to be solely responsible and he has been fired

Dmitroff doesn't even stick around the war room after the 3rd round so this is meaningless to him

How can someone be solely responsible?
Doesn't he have a boss?

I think a 5th rounder is a joke for this punishment. 3rd or 4th is much more fitting here and it isn't even this year's draft.

Yet nothing happens to New England

I'm honestly about to just save this into a word document.

1) Ian Rapoport (the NFL's personal leak machine) has stated that only one ball was 2 psi below the mandated amount, and that was the ball the Colts provided.

2) The chain of evidence for the intercepted Patriots ball is in massive dispute. The defender who intercepted the ball didn't even know it was heavily deflated, and it was on the Colts sideline for a while before they turned the ball over to the officials.

3) The NFL had to fire a league official because he was selling footballs on the side, which further destroys any sort of chain of evidence with these footballs. It's tough to punish a team for lack of taking care of the balls when the league does it.

4) The internal controls for the non-existent ball procedures were pretty awful too.

I know you're joking, but as a professional sound guy, this would piss me off if I was in his position. You get told to do that kind of shite by people getting paid much much more than you do.

The "sound guy" did nothing wrong. The appropriate party was punished.

Those facts don't matter. Most people made up their mind from day one that the Patriots were cheating. Incorrect early reports and science have shed enough doubt on the whole thing that it seems this was all bullshite from day one. However, the patriot haters will fill this board with one of two responses when the Wells report comes out.

option 1- report says the Pats are guilty. "I told you, all the Patriots do is cheat"

option 2- report says the Pats aren't at fault. "I told you Goodell and Kraft are BFF and the NFL would cover this up"

What did you expect? A second rounder this year? No. That's what you were hoping.

I kind of tend to agree that it might of been to light. I am guessing it was because we weren't winning games anyways?

But it isn't like we did this for just a game or two. We pumped in crowd noise for 2 seasons. I am very surprised we are only losing a 5th, and not even this years.
