First year really watching hockey. I enjoyed the finals last year, so I picked my team, the Dallas Stars, immediately after the season ended.
I've followed them all offseason, watched all the preseason, and thankfully, I'll get almost all of their games here on tv.
That said, Crosby will destroy us tonight.

I petition to move the Avs out of the Central with the quickness.

Please oh please let the Isles be good. The Huskers are killing me right now and I need something to feel good about.

The prognosticators were right about one thing, the Central is up for grabs and will be a grind. I don't think the Hawks win it this year because I don't think Q puts much emphasis on winning the division or having the best record. It's all about making the playoffs and getting your team in the right position to succeed once you get there. If that takes resting some guys, shortening some minutes, giving some end of benchers some extended ice time, so be it.
I wouldn't be surprised to see anything that happens in the West, other than the Oilers making the playoffs or the Blues not choking. Part of me wants to say it is the Wild's year but I think they caught lightning in a bottle with Dubnyk last year and won't get as solid play from the goalies this year. It will come down to the Hawks and Ducks in the playoffs again.
I am also interested in watching the rebuild unfold in Toronto. Babcock, Lou, Shanahan. Lot of hockey knowledge and a lot of ego there. Babcock has always had winners and has never had to completely build a crapfest from the bottom to the top. Lou has remolded the Devils over and over. Shanahan is a former player and I'm really not sure how he rose to such positions of power post playing career. Must have some dirt on somebody. This franchise could be built into a juggernaut or it could completely go full nuclear melt. Get your popcorn.

I think Saad leaving Chicago will actually hurt them. I like that he ended up in C-Bus though.
I really hope Eichel and Reinhardt can bring some offense to Buffalo, they are my sleeper to make the playoffs.
I was surprised that Larkin did not go to the minors this year also, that is not like the Red Wings to bring in an under 20.

Letting Saad get away from Chicago will hurt. The guy is a manchild.
Pay a bunch of money to Bickell resulting in Saad getting away. Can't give Bickell away. Only big mistake I can think of this Hawks front office has made in the last few years but a mistake that will come back to haunt them for a long time.

Hopefully Hockey USA will decide to put him on the next Olympic team. I think he has earned that.
I would love to see him, Eichel, and Mad Max on the same line in South Korea.
As far as the World Cup I think Eichel and McDavid are going to be on Team North America.
Team North America could have Eichel, McDavid, Larkin, Saad, McKinnon, Nugent-Hopkins.

Depends on if Fehr gets his way with Salary cap. I think you will, but not in the 2022.

As far as the Wings go, I'm just waiting for Teemu Pulkkinen to have a breakout year.

I think the whole point of the tournament in Toronto next year is have an NHL global tournament that isn't the Olympics. I don't think the owners liked the Olympics and they have to vote to allow the players to play I think.
