We are talking about conference and the Big Ten is much more attractive to UNC than the SEC ever will be in regards to academics.

I think UNC would consider the SEC if UVa came with them. The two of them would make the SEC competitive enough academically to be justifiable to the alumni and faculty.

Duke adds no value to the football TV contracts, which is what this is all about. Both the SEC and B1G want one school from NC and VA.

They've popped up in newspapers in ACC country since the Maryland stuff happened. Basically the main rumors are that VT (NC State possibly) wants in the ACC. UNC and UVa are trying to align themselves. Those two want to save the ACC, but will leave together if necessary, probably to the B1G.

Is the reason the Big 10 is so proactive in adding more members this season because two of their biggest football programs are on bowl probation?
