He has been so overhyped people expect much more from him in passing situations than he can give right now.
i just mean talent
he was advertised as having a rocket arm. he doesn't
quote:
I think he will be a terrific college QB,
i have no doubt that he'll be really good-great in college, especially playing for OSU

With that size and speed, he'll have GMs salivating like with Matt Jones
something tells me he doesn't run close to a 4.37
Posted on 1/6/09 at 1:36 pm to SlowFlowPro
In three years JJ will be out of football and Pryor will be entering the NFL draft.

He ran a reported 4.4 in high school. How legitimate that is, who knows

well i'm also waiting for 3-4 years of adding weight

why do you hate jordan jefferson?
hell JJs 1 problem is his mechanics. TP isn't exactly joe montana out there

You were comparing Jarrett Lee to Brett Favre earlier in the season and now you think that JJ is as good as Pryor after a game in which he threw for <150 yds and rushed for 25.

no i thought JJ was the talent TP was in the game wehre JJ burned his redshirt. forget which game that was
he's MUCH faster than what was reported during his recruiting

I don't hate him.
I just find it really hard to believe that, like you said, if JJ=Pryor, shouldn't he have played a couple of game in? Not the last 2 games of the year?
In your logic, JJ=Pryor, yet for some reason, Miles starts Hatch and JLee over JJ?
Last time i checked Pryor>>>>>>Hatch and Lee.
Hell Boeckman>>>>>>Hacth and Lee for that matter.
Something doesn't add up slow.
And don't give me a playbook excuse.

But somehow he leads his team to the Fiesta. You know damn well if Boeckman back there all year they do not go to Fiesta.
Sometimes it's more than just mechanics. The kid makes plays.

there are a list of factors
-Miles: loves the older kid. Usually waits too late to replace ineffective older players with more talented younger players. when did PP begin to start over jai eugene? it wasn't early on
-SEC: much harder to throw a young QB to the wolves in the SEC. harder environments. closer talent levels
-LSU: we hadn't completely tanked until the Troy game. Before troy we had lost 3 games, to Bama, UF, and UGA. nothing to get angry about

see: Keiland in 2006 v fat alley, Hester, and fat JV
see: Peterson and Tolliver in 2008
why did Tres start the year with Boeckman when he should have known from last year that Todd sucks?

hatch? yes
lee? i dunno

But somehow he leads his team to the Fiesta.
no team he started against had near the talent that OSU did, and they mainly relied on their running game

and Boeckman fricking blows

JJ didn't make plays against Arky or GTech?
Posted on 1/6/09 at 1:54 pm to SlowFlowPro
I heard Matt Jones mentioned. Matt Jones is the greatest SEC QB in the BCS era.

bogus when analiyzing our QB situation

i'll give you that. But it is tough for any frosh in any conference regardless.

Like I have told you before, Keiland is the softest RB we got. By far. You still can't seem to get off his nuts.
Peterson PLAYED early in the season, but didn't start till half way through.
I agree TT should have play every single down. Every down.
Boeckman lead them to the MNC game last year! and he has an NFL arm, whether you want to admit it or not.
quote:
hatch? yes
lee? i dunno
You got to be fricking kiddimg me. Boeckman over both of those clowns and it is not even close.

PSU was a BCS caliber team this year
quote:

All we had to do was get up 2 TDs over GT and there offense had no way of coming back.
Slow, the kid ran for 30 yards and threw for 140. Not exactly lighting it up.

not really
i mean andrew fricking hatch was our starter to open the year
quote:

pryor didn't exactly have a tough playbook to learn
quote:

he produces
he revived our offense in 2006 (when non-soft runners like hester and alley sucked)
quote:
Peterson PLAYED early in the season, but didn't start till half way through.
JJ PLAYED early in the year also
quote:

because they out-talented everybody in a shite conference and ran beannie. Boeckman was fricking garbage
Sean fricking Glennan almost led VT to the title last year
quote:
and he has an NFL arm, whether you want to admit it or not.
NFL arms throw 40 yard hail maries?
quote:
Boeckman over both of those clowns and it is not even close.
Boeckman in the SEC would not do shite
did you see him against our pourus pass D last year?
quote:
PSU was a BCS caliber team this year
they were the caliber of team that could play in a BCS conference, yes
they were not a BCS title-worthy team, however
quote:
Slow, the kid ran for 30 yards and threw for 140. Not exactly lighting it up.
what did pryor do last night?

SFP I question your evaluations of talent. You said Ryan would fail in the NFL, you had WVU as your preseason #1, and you ranked Texas ahead of USC in your final TD.com poll.

You said Ryan would fail in the NFL,
that was based off his mediocre year last year at BC
quote:
you had WVU as your preseason #1
just about everyone had them in the top 5-7
i was as wrong as everyone else
why don't you bring up all the people who had OSU 1 or 2 in their preseason polls?
Posted on 1/6/09 at 2:14 pm to SlowFlowPro
They were wrong too. Returning starters is overrated. OSU lacked offensive talent and just because they had that extra year of experience didn't mean their mediocre athletes would turn into playmakers.
Posted on 1/6/09 at 2:14 pm to SlowFlowPro
Do you agree though that Matt Jones > Tebow?
Posted on 1/6/09 at 2:23 pm to Ghazi
i don't know if jones was the leader that TT is, but physically, jones > tebow
Posted on 1/6/09 at 2:28 pm to SlowFlowPro
Is it me or is Tebows leadership overrated. It's easy to be a leader when your team is so fricking stacked/fast that every game is over by halftime. the ALabama game, considering it was Tebow's 1st 4th quarter comeback, was the first actual example of Tebow's leadership.
Put me alongside players like Wright, Spikes, Harvin, Demps, Rainey, James and I'd be a pretty damn good leader too. And jeez what if that TE didn't get injured before the season (Ingram I think it was)? He was a beast!

SFP I read his book. He leaves nothing out. He did mention the fact that he never did herion, that someone made that up.
