the team surrounding him was much, much more talented than any opponent not named USC or UT
No Penn St?
JJ lost at Arky. I know you won't argue their talent compared to LSU's.

I can't find sacks on a game by game basis anywhere.

30 against a defense that gave up 31.2 on average for the year.

We have a QB......one that looked much more poised and polished that Pryor did last night.
I respect your opinion on here tigre but Texas much> GTech FWIW

but is the Texas defense that much better than GT? i put UT a notch ahead based on them having to face pass happy teams all year, but their total defense and scoring defense rankings are pretty much a wash.
Also, remember that this was only JJ's 3rd full game as a starter and he showed tremendous growth in his month of prep. I was very high on Pryor during the reg season but his lack of progression for the bowl concerned me. I know it's only one game for each of them, but JJ's improvement was astronomical for such a short stretch.

JJ has a much better understanding of the passing game in general
You don't know this. How can you make this statement?
JJ played 1 game, Pryor played all season. Your logic makes no sense here.

. i hope the coaches sent JJ to spend some time with RBs coaches to improve his running ability.
You can't be serious with this.

watching the 2 QBs this year, along with knowing what both did in high school (and against what kidn of talent). it's not rocket science

JJ has started 2
Pryor didn't play all year, and he played his games against the big fricking 10

you don't see the talent he has running, along with his deer in the headlights running style?

What???? Did you watch JJ in warmups
He played in 2 games. JJ was warming the fricking bench while pryor was leading his team from behind in camp randell, and facing much better defenses like penn st, and michigan (i know i know, but they DO have talent on that D)
Pryor facing and average Ark and GT D, and have the GT offense showing no signs of life, i am pretty sure I could have lead us to victory in that game.

Son, this isn't high school anymore. This is D1 college football. And for that fact Pryor might be the most touted ATH out of HS ever, so i don't know where you are going with this either.

Pryor did take an overhwleming majority of the snaps for the team. So basically he played all year.
Again, the big ten arguement is weak bc JJ played an average Ark and GT defense. So, you honestly think that the defenses in the big ten are that much worse than Ark and GT??? I'm not buying that for one second.
The fact that you are seriously argueing JJ=Pryor is beyond me anyway.

I can't think of one better in recent memory. Maybe Tim Couch with all the passing records he broke in HS??
Posted on 1/6/09 at 12:59 pm to The Lou
who was a more hyped prep prospect than Pryor? one that didn't benefit from the ND tv contract that is....Powlus, Clausen, etc don't count.

but Matt Jones did not have near the national hype coming out of HS as Pryor. you know that Slo.
Posted on 1/6/09 at 1:02 pm to The Lou
Yea, he was like a top 25 or so basketball recruit too wasn't he?
