this part was also funny....

quote:

as Rosenthal pointed out earlier today, a total cancellation of the event seems unlikely, given that more people watched this year’s edition of glorified two-hand touch than watched the 2011 MLB all-star game.

That's actually surprising. I don't know one person who watches the pro bowl. Know a lot of people who watch the all star game.

Kind of surprised as well.

I don't know why Goodell is even pretending there's something he can do to improve that game. It is what it is, maybe increasing the purse for the winning team but I'm not sure that even motivates them to give a shite

They need the Skills Challenge. Maybe the players won't be motivated for that but it's better than the charade they had last week.

On Wikipedia it says they do in Hawaii during Pro Bowl weekend but they don't televise it.

How about the winning team in the pro-bowl has their super-bowl representative automatically win the coin toss!

Meaningless all-star games should always have a say in championship importance!

Football is just not something you can half-arse. You can make a decent MLB and NBA All-Star game, because of the lack of contact, but you can't do the same with football.

Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter:

Commissioner Roger Goodell told ESPN's Mike and Mike that, after what he saw last Sunday, the NFL will consider eliminating the Pro Bowl.

Goofdell would like to turn the whole league into Arena Flag Football.

Add in the skills challenge and it would be much more interesting.
