Even I hate this argument, and I don't mean to take anything away from him, but throughout his entire career, Manning got to take advantage of being in divisions of teams that were never consistent and just downright horrible.

lol, no. Not even close.

Let's not forget Drew, he has some years left, too.

When was that? Brees has been almost perfect in the playoffs

22 touchdowns to 4 interceptions while completing 67% of his passes and 331 ypg

For Drew, 06 NFCCG @ Chi. He made some pretty poor decisions in that one. But you're right he's been excellent in the playoffs for the most part.

Drew will certainly belong in GOAT discussion if he plays at an elite level for a few more years and picks up another ring. In fact I'd say he has a better chance than Aaron Rodgers.

Why? Rodgers is younger, meaning he has more time to accumulate stats/accomplishments, and he's outperformed Drew just about every season

Manning has the same number of SB titles as Trent Dilfer.

Bold part is just blatantly false. He was better in every season except 2010 and 2012, and maybe 2011. Just because the media doesn't suck his dick like they do to Rodgers and Brady, doesn't mean he was outperformed.

Brees has the better resume of the two so far. And he's been elite for longer, which indicates to me he has a better chance of staying at the top for a long time.

Rodgers has had the benefit of better receivers and defense also.

I don't think so, and I'm a Saints fan.

only if Rodgers falls off or gets hurt

He's been on an unreal tear the last few years.

Why is it that Manning is the only one that comes under fire for average/bad playoff performances?

Because he's been doing it his whole career. Manning is definitely one of the best QBs to ever play the game, but legends are made in the playoffs. That's why I have Montana at #1.

Manning will likely have the all time touchdown record by next year, and may possibly break the single season record again this year. He will also never lead the all the time INT record like Favre. Counting super bowl wins is good for arguing who the best team of all time is, but not the best QB.

Peyton can win on any team (Indy, Denver, Tenn).

YOu did see what happened to their respective offenses and teams, when each were out right? Pats = playoffs. Colts = worst in the league.

So has Drew Brees, and for a longer time.

You really can't definitely put one over the other at this point. Time will tell who is the better QB.

I do think Brees has more longevity though, as he does not rely on athleticism and arm strength as much as Rodgers.

that was the entire point of my original post. I'm not comparing their careers at this point.

Rodgers is younger and has now put up 7 straight great seasons and has only had double digit interceptions twice in that stretch (11 and 13).

Brees has 7-9 great seasons himself, but Rodgers was better sooner
