re: Pretty tough to argue against Manning being the GOAT at this point

Only once, until last years game that went to OT and had two Trindon Holliday kick returns, has Peyton Manning led his team to 20 points in a playoff loss. That means 7 times he has failed to get his team to 20 in a game they ended up losing.
He has thrown 32 TDs and 21 INTs in the playoffs. Regular season QBs struggle to keep their jobs with that kind of ratios.
We all know that wins are a team stat but to say Manning has often failed to deliver in the playoffs is a more than fair statement.

Manning isn't the reason they lost
If you are going to be the GOAT, or even close to it, it shouldn't have to be said that you "aren't the reason they lost". You should be the reason they won.
As my prior post illustrates Manning certainly wasn't pulling his weight in many of his teams post season losses.

Read my post several pages back regarding GOAT status in football.
I'm not arguing for anyone as GOAT; rather, I'm arguing against a particular narrative that is not based on any objective facts.

Only twice (and one was 21 points and the other was to Manning's team) did Brady lead his team to your arbitrary 20 point barrier in a loss.
Plus, Brady has a lower playoff passer rating, lower yards per attempt, and higher interception % than Manning in the playoffs. Brady has put up worse numbers than Manning in the playoffs, so does that exclude him from your little discussion?

Yeah. Because of this simple number: 17. The Patriots are 17-7 in the playoffs since he was promoted to the role of starting QB. Manning was below .500 despite having similar talent. Also...Brady shined in 3 Super Bowl victories.

You must think Ben Roethlisberger and Joe Flacco are elite as well

I would have called Ben Roethlisberger an elite QB a couple of years ago.

When you use rate metrics, as I have, the number of games played is less significant. And it's only a four game difference.
When you have a lower yards per attempt and a higher interception %, then you didn't play as well.

Best regular season QB. Yes.

145 yards passing and one TD is an all-time great performance
ETA: Question for Rolltide87, if vinatieri misses those field goals, is Tom Brady no longer great? Because according to you, he wouldn't be

You think the Colts and Pats had similar talent?

This is the biggest lie i have heard in a very long time
He finished 16 of 27 for 145 yards and a touchdown, yes. But he was also voted the MVP of the Super Bowl that year. So there goes that argument.
In his 5 Super Bowl appearances his a combined 127-197 for 1,227 yards (both of which are records). He's thrown 9 touchdowns in those 5 games to just 1 interception.

No. Why? Look at the above stats I just cited.

You can laugh but that's not going to change the fact that Tom Brady was the MVP of the Super Bowl that year.

And yet it was good enough to win the biggest game of the year and net him a Super Bowl MVP trophy.

Then by that same token who cares about what Peyton Manning has done?
