Regardless of stroke Craig Hodges, Ray Allen, Reggie Miller, and Larry Bird were the best shooters I've ever seen. Until Curry. Curry is the GOAT.

Ray Allen is the closest I've seen to Klay. He's either second or 1A.

i don' like him as a player but there isn't a player in the NbA with a better stroke the Carmelo Anthony his stroke is it's own currency it's so money

i dont' care for curry's release point. Klay IMHO waits too long to release his shot. it's pretty but it's a tad late release. he's just so tall he can get away with it. i always thought ray allen held the ball too far out in front of him and he ends up pushing the ball a little. i want he shite works lol. reggie miller had the most retarded fricking shot i've ever seen in my life somehow his hands would end up crossing over each other. but it works. if it works it works.

I know myself i'm slouth footed and if i tried to shot normal the ball would always veer right because my feet don't point towards the goal so i would always point my toes inward and i don't set my feet even i push off my back left foot, it adds more range as i don't have to push the ball as hard with my upper body but leave me open if you want lol.

Dirk has textbook form for a big guy stretching out

Klay's jumpshot may be textbook, but it feels so stiff to watch. If we're talking straight aesthetics, I'm going with Steph of the two. All-time I'd rather watch Ray Allen or Melo shoot.

Klay has more traditional form. Curry is some sort of set shot jump shot hybrid.
yep.

Klay prettier.

Curry, interesting. I have been looking at it in my minds eye for days now. I think he does a shot put mid stroke.

Your feet shouldn't point towards the goal. They should be at a 45 degree angle...

Steph's shot is like watching Mike Vick throw bombs back in the day-- its all this effortless wrist flick.

Disregarding the outcome and production, Curry shoots like a stud lady baller. Not strong athletic enough to release at the top of the shot but gets his money from the quick release from his chest.

Agreed with poster who said from the chest shoulders and arms up, curry has perfect form. It's the same. What makes him special is the agility flexibility and adaptability to get that perfect mechanism squared no matter which angle is beneath him or as he s turning. But curry s release is perfect every time.

If we re talking about the form that your high school basketball coach likes sure it's klay.

Klay is an artillery cannon. Steph is an artillery cannon on a unicycle.

Klay's is textbook. Shoots at the top of his jump.

Steph shoots as he is still going up. His highest point is reached after he already releases the ball. That's how he can hit those deep, deep 3's. I imagine he learned to shoot like that from an early age because he was so thin and couldn't really hit a deep ball by just flicking his wrist at the highest point. It's one continuous motion. That's why his release is so quick.

Curry doesn't release from his chest. He sets the ball at his right eyebrow. Guys like Klay Thompson set the ball above their head.
