That's the tradeoff for the Big 10 TV contract.

Plus, noon kickoffs are not as frowned upon in the Big 10 as they are in the SEC

Kevin Warren totally fricked Ohio State for what we did during the cancelled then rescheduled 2020 season.

Ohio State plays every big home game at Noon, while Purdue and Northwestern get the same TV payout.

A big noon game once a year is fine, but no big night games is extremely lame.

Texas vs Ohio State needs to be a night game.

I mean, they made the semis last year and were at least solid. I assume they have most guys back except Carter and the TE? Plus, who is gonna be any better in the B1G besides OSU and Oregon? And it's not crazy to say those two teams may take a step back from last year.

-Penn state ranked in top 10
-Has a shite schedule with maybe 2 good teams on it, obviously loses to both
-ohio state gets credit for a "top 10" win by virtue of beating PSU. PSU, by virtue of only have a couple "good losses" gets to remain in the top 10

Literally has happened in the SEC for 15 years

7 teams start in the pre-season poll, so when one beats the other, neither drop for a "good loss" and if there's an upset, the team who pulls the upset must be good.

When was Ole Miss or A&Ms or South Carolinas?

But they are ranked highly every year. Oh look 13 and 19 and 21 preseason.

Pre 1980 and even into the 1980s the Big Ten always preferred early afternoon kickoffs. One or 1:30 was standard across the big ten. So Noon Eastern is not that bad. I'd prefer the 1 Eastern and have a noon start in the central time zone. Michigan v Ohio State and other big games were mostly early afternoon kickoffs. In fact into the 1980s Michigan and Michigan State did not have lights. They had to use those temporary lights.

Ohio Stadium didn't have permanent lights until 2014.

The last 2 years we have had 10- and 9-win seasons, including a win over top 15 Clemson on the road. Still no respect for Jeff Brohm?

Kind of shitty it's at Noon on FOX too

I like it for all the reasons lsupride mentioned. The best three games of the day are at different times. And I prefer LSU-Clemson at night.

Ranked 13th in 2024 then went on to...

Lose to Illinois in the cheez it bowl and then talk crap about how bad the B1G is.

Them and Bama were overrated horribly because the SEC was terrible last season. They may be good this year, but it was clear they benefited from reputation not performance last season as a conference

Some Preseason Polls started to look like ACC bids in March Madness the last 5 years.

Some ranked preseason SEC team would lose to another SEC team in the Preseason logjam, drop a spot, then the team they lost to would lose a week later and drop behind the team they beat just prior and then that team (Ole Miss?) would lose again to a 4-0 preseason schedule SEC team and still be ranked ahead of 8 undefeated teams.

Conference bandwagon fallacy is so pervasive, Polls shouldn't come out till we have bodies of evidence and not Preseason presumptions dominating rankings until cooler heads prevail by week 8.
