Theres been a few instances over the years where I havent really cared for the horse going for the TC but I like CC. I think he wins fairly easy Saturday
well said and I agree. I'm probably going to throw General A Rod in some exotics too.

I wanted to cry. Was in the Philadelphia airport about to take a school trip to France and I was so shocked I just kept watching. Made it back to the gate right before the plane boarded.

Real Quiet was worthy. Lost by a nose when Kent went full retard.
He's the kind of horse I'm talking about. He had a solid, but unspectacular career before and after the Triple Crown. He wasn't the kind of horse I want winning the Triple Crown. Each of those 70s winners were great horses, as were 2 who didn't win and probably should have(Riva Ridge and Spectacular Bid) and even Alydar.
But, yes, he should have won.

Uh oh. Twitter rumor mill at work saying chrome has a cough. Sherman says small blister in throat :(
Apparently he was scoped and had blood drawn. Given the ok on both, just a small itchy blister

I think I'm just going to watch and enjoy the race on Saturday. I really don't want to touch Chrome at 3/5 and I don't think there is enough value in the race.
I think I'm going to do the same thing.

From Jay Privman DRF
Alan Sherman said Ca Chrome has tiny blister in throat, which he had before Derby, went down, came back. treated with throat wash.Sherman said wash is glycerin, "coats" throat. Blood work perfect, no infection. All told, not big deal.

What are the 'front wraps' that ya'll are referring to?
Posted on 5/15/14 at 11:30 am to supadave3
The leg wraps. They are vet wrap. Most horses wear them behind because you can put patches on the back bottom the help with rundown injuries (when horses run their flexible joints mean part of the back leg comes in contact with the ground). Front wraps usually (but not always) mean an issue, whether tendon, ankle, or something else. It could be minor or major but it is needed for something.

So my buddy is in a syndicate that owns and ran Commanding Curve to second place finish in the Derby. They are not running him in the Preakness.
Historically, horses exiting the Kentucky Derby have fared better in the Preakness than new shooters, so besides California Chrome, you have to watch out for Ride On Curlin and General A Rod.
BET THE LONGSHOT!!!
Geaux RING WEEKEND!!!
Put your money on Commanding Curve in the Belmont. If he had more track, he would have won the Derby.

Okay, Racing Fans: RING WEEKEND is #4 in the Preakness. He's trained by Graham Motion and ridden by jockey Alan Garcia. He'll be a LS but look for him to stalk the leaders and come on strong if the pace is slow to moderate.
It will be 2 weeks later, with a different horse, at a different track, in a different race, ... but we're hoping for a similar or BETTER outcome.

I got a few pretty pictures of him in the la derby this year. He is quite a huge striking colt!
I backed him all winter and even mentioned him in the first post of the derby thread, then chickened out and dropped him from my exacta last minute to put in danza
At least I had wps on him.

I know your excited about his derby run, but stop with the he would have won with more track. That's not how it works and comes across as you ragging on a horse that is now a KY Derby winner. If you ran out of track your horse should have laid closer or moved earlier. Oh and I do like him in the Belmont although I've seen big closers come up short in the derby and not run a step in the Belmont.

Noob question here: Can I bet on the Preakness today or tomorrow, or do I have to wait until the day of the race?

You can bet now, but you will get the odds that the horses have when they come out the gate.

They're pretty readily available online for free.

I"m gonna make a small wager on Bayern. I can make a very very legit case for him in this race though probably not plausible.
'
but it's CC's to lose. But i could see Bayern winning. if you throw his last out, first after 2 months, he would be 5/2 in this field.
