Doncic would prefer PHX of any team in the top five.

He's just saying this in case PHX passes.

More like he's saying it to ward off teams like Sacto, Memphis, and Atlanta. I seriously doubt he would stay in Europe if he fell to Dallas.

Do you guys think he will be a superstar like some are acting?

Rubio wasn’t close to as good as Doncic is coming into the draft.

Dallas? They’ve won more than of the top 5 teams in the last 20 or so years by a wide margin. They also have an elite head coach and Dirk who’s also a European to mentor him.

No shot he stays unless he really hates money

I suppose the recent exploration of NBA salaries may have resolved this issue but in the past some Euro guys were taking less money to come to NBA. Rookie scale, value of dollar, and taxes caused issue from some in the past. May not be an issue anymore, esp for #1 picks

I don’t think the money is close when you’re a lock for the top 2 like Doncic. He will make like 34 mil or something over his 4 year rookie deal

Superstar.

Best passing euro ever.
Very good mid range.
Spectacular inside scorer.
Great form.

If he can defend 2 and 3, he's hall of fame.

If he can't defend a position he'll be back in Europe after his rookie deal.

If he's just ok to defend 3s he will make a fortune on his passing and offense.

It's weird that his former coach got the phx job and ayton is from there.
His coach knows If he can defend a position. Boy, I'd want to work him out.

He is just trying to maintain leverage after he gets drafted.

When was the last time a European player was hyped like this?

Porzingis and Saric were probably the last hyped Euros, but maybe not at quite this level. For that you’d probably have to go back to Darco.

The difference is Darko wasn't dominating. He was like many of these guys who are just hyped due to potential. Doncic is dominating games against grown men.

Ginobli is probably the last guy to put up comparable stats, and he was already 22 when the Spurs drafted him. Doncic is only 19.

Mirotic was also a Euro-league all-star before coming to the NBA.

No doubt. I think Doncic will be awesome. Just saying as far as the hype in the US goes that’s the only guy I see as comparable.
