so what law is that violating?

A law doesn’t have to be broken for a lawsuit

What contractual provisions were violated?

Does FSU even have standing to sue? These agreements are made at the conference level

If FSU lawyers can demonstrate extreme evidence of the committee has historically treated teams differently and been inconsistent, there could be a case. Hell the committee chairman used the justification to put Liberty in a NY6 game over SMU because they “just kept winning” this year… sounds pretty inconsistent to me

The committee changes every year though. And one of the rules in place since the CFP started is the consideration of injuries.

Based on what claim/cause of action?

Sure, but how does that violate the contract?

The committee is given lots of power to make the decision. They followed the contractual terms in making the decision.

That was created so that if a team lost a player to injury then lost a game the team maybe doesn’t fall as far because the injury had more to do with the loss than the overall team performance or something like that.

It was never created so that if a player was injured but the team still won they’d be left out because they thought they wouldn’t be as competitive. That just doesn’t make any sense. It’s more impressive that FSU has won without their QB

Sure it does. FSU is not the same team and sucks now.

The selection committee will select the teams using a process that distinguishes among otherwise comparable teams by considering:

Conference championships won,
Strength of schedule,
Head-to-head competition,
Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory), and,
Other relevant factors such as unavailability of key players and coaches that may have affected a team’s performance during the season or likely will affect its postseason performance.

The probably don't have a case but I want them to file one anyway.

Seems like the committee fricked that up this year. The voters should ignore their little playoff and vote for FSU. Some of them will.

If FSU somehow beats UGA it wouldn’t totally shock me if the AP votes them #1 in their final poll

Exactly

The NCAA put a team that they wanted in over a team that deserved to be in.
Texas v. Bama debate had more merit, although Texas should be in via the head to head.

This crying about FSU has gone on long enough.

This is karma for a program that shunned the SEC for years, as Bowden admitted, so they would have an easier path. And now they pay the price for it. Being in that trash can conference hurt them. Playing like a bag of arse against middle of the road Louisville hurt them.

Time to move on.

Since 2012 when it was adopted by the BCS committee and agreed to by ADs, conference commissioners, and school presidents.
