You think someone studying at a service academy in Soviet Studies is right out of the box a communist for doing so? Not for the purpose of going into intelligence (particularly at that time) to deal with Soviet opposition to the US?
The downfall of this country is the sheer idiocy of the current population. And that’s not exclusive to ideology either. You’re presenting case and point right here.

The late 60s (when Pop enrolled at the academy) was about racial tensions, assassinations of US political leaders, and for someone at a service academy, the Vietnam War
So a kid whose ancestry is from the USSR, chooses Soviet Studies as his major is pretty telling, especially now that he is open about his disdain for conservative Americans.

Exactly. Those takes are so bad.
I’m not a fan of his political stance, but he’s entitled to it. I’m not a fan that he seems more concerned about that then coaching my Spurs.
With that said, I’m not jaded enough to sit here and blabber about him being overrated. Because he’s not. He’s an all time great coach. His records speak volumes about his coaching ability.
It’s easy for people to say he only won because he had HoF players. But he receives no credit for developing said players, keeping the team together, and hitting on players at the end of the first round and second round.
